Multiple locations means it's easy to find this long-standing restaurant in the Phoenix area. Very good baby back ribs, simple side salad, friendly service. Deep dish apple pie is better than most at restaurants with lots of cinnamon and nutmeg. Tasty BBQ sauce. Well priced for BBQ.

Slightly limited menu, but if you want Arizona cooking and BBQ, this is the place. Melt-in-your mouth beef brisket; tender, sweet, smokey pulled pork! Each of our sandwiches came with applesauce, and a choice of sides. Roasted corn was charred up pretty nice, but tasty. The onion rings weren't the one-pound portion described in the appetizer menu, but there were plenty for the two of us, and we'd order them again. The decor is western-themed, of course, with wood shavings on the floor. Our waitress was friendly and easy-going, and we were satisfied with the portion size. Almost a little too much food, but who's complaining?

I am a "chicken fried steak" connoisseur. So on Sunday morning, I went to Bill Johnson's Big Apple for chicken fried steak fix. The food was good, the service was good and the place has apparently not been remodeled since the 13th century. It was fun experience for a Sunday morning.

This was our first meal in Phoenix and I must say without knowing we hit a magnificent spot. As mentioned by other people the waitstaff are in authentic western wear right down to the six shooters.
The appeal doen't stop there, they are highly skilled and know how to take care of their customers. We wanted for nothing during our meal and did not even have to hint at drink refills without them magically appearing.
I had the southwest burger and it did not dissapoint, cooked to perfection with a very pleasing combination of toppings including a fried egg.
Top that off with a piece of icecream that had to weigh a pound at least and I was one happy fellow who waddled out the door stuffed and entertained.
Did not hurt the budget at all either.
