Well-organized displays in museum that is a nice size and fresh in appearance. Many fine examples of cowboy saddles, guns and tools are mixed into rooms displaying realistic paintings of old West life. We are happy to have altered our drive to stop here.

A lovely gem of an art museum on the fringes of Prescott in the scenic Granite Dells. Exhibits change often throughout the year. Frequent Saturday lectures, children's programs, and dinner events also.

The permanent exhibits seem to focus a lot on the Cowboy Artists of America founders and artists who are/were in the Prescott area - and they are worth seeing. Beautiful sculptures, paintings, and some historical displays as well (we particularly enjoyed seeing the cowgirl/rodeo girl displays). The temporary exhibits when we visited were on loan from one of the Phoenix museum and included some Remington etchings - the entire exhibit was fabulous.

We spent a couple of hours being wowed by the wonderful artwork on display - we'll certainly be back for the next temporary exhibit and for the other events (art auctions and sales, etc).

My wife and I were in Prescott to visited the museums. The Phippen Museum has a large collection of various artists that work in a variety of mediums. The main exhibition rooms are on the upper level but there are also some works on display on the smaller lower level. The museum is well laid out and easy to navigate through the various areas. All in all, a must see if you enjoy Native American art.

Enjoyed this Western museum. Wonderful Paintings, bronze statues and rotating exhibits that highlight western life. Interesting collection of cowboy memorabilia with history of famous cowboys. Reasonably priced and pleasant staff that allow you to move at own pace to enjoy the artwork. Worth the time!
