My spouse and I stayed at Sheraton Desert Oasis for 1 week in July/09.... we absolutely loved this resort... it was small and intimate, yet big enough that there was still lots of property for all the guests.... There was a small gym with excellent cardio equipment, which we used on a daily basis....because of it's size, the gym could get busy so you need to plan your workout during quieter times....the service at this resort was outstanding.... several times we called down to the front desk to ask for extra supplies, and they were always delivered within 5minutes..... Our 1bedroom unit, was spacious and beautiful.... the whirlpool bathtub in the master bedroom was lovely.... the main swimming pool could have been a little bit bigger, but we never had a problem finding chairs each day, and the temperature of the water was very refreshing in the 110 degree heat... they also offer a quiet/shady pool which is completely surrounded by trees, but we didn't use it as we enjoy the sun....this resort was very close to some excellent golf courses, which offered great prices during the off season... We would definitely return to this resort again and I would highly recommend it to anyone...

We just returned from a week vacation at the Sheraton. What a great trip. The hotel is in an awesome location in North Scottsdale. From the second we checked in the service was 5 star. The staff are well trained and love to take care of the guests. The rooms were very nice (jacuzzi tub in the bedroom was a hit) , super clean and extremely quite. The grills were cleaned and the sidewalks swept each morning and the pool and grounds looked perfect throughout the day. Every detail was always being attended to. I would recommend a car because there are a lot of restaurants and shops very close. If you want a wonderful relaxing vacation this is an outstanding choice.

My husband and I just returned from Scottsdale. We had a great stay at the Sheraton Desert Oasis! I was very impressed when we entered our one bedroom suite. (We had the larger side.) We had to wait in line to check in but once we got to the front of the line it was very quick. They tried to get us to hear the Timeshare sale but we opted out. The guy at the desk didn't push but we did have a message left on our voicemail everyday trying to get us to hear it.
The bed was sooooo comfy we want to get one for home. We'd love to know what kind of a mattress it was. We took a one night trip up to Sedona and the Grand Canyon and couldn't wait to get back to our wonderful mattress.
We had a jacuzzi in our room but didn't use it. :-( The one by the pool was huge with not many people in it. The shower was very large with two shower heads.
We didn't have any need to contact staff the entire time we were there so I can't comment on the service.
We cooked a couple of meals in our room which we enjoyed out on our deck. It was very enjoyable having coffee out there every morning also. Having a washer and dryer in the room is always a plus.
The gift shop was really small but upon our visit it appeared that it had anything a person could want. It was amazing how they got everything into that little area. The gal in the store was very friendly and not pushy.
The pool was very close to our room. It did get loud at times but nothing that wasn't tolerable. Lots of chairs and towels unlike some resorts. You didn't have to "hope" you could get a chair each day. The snack bar was handy. All of the people we encountered at the pool were very friendly, no snobs. It was fun watching some of the silly things some of the kids were doing.
The wireless internet was nice and free! We really appreciate having it.
We enjoyed the local restaurants and the area in general.
We would come back here and stay again anytime.
I can't think of anything that we didn't like.

The Sheraton Desert Oasis was overall a nice timeshare. It is decorated in a southwestern theme which it actually very nice. Our one bedroom unit had two large flat screen TV’s and a Bose sound system. The other MAJOR perk was the free internet access, being able get on line when I wanted to was great!

The kitchen area was more than adequate; two electric burners and a microwave that was also a conventional/ toaster oven. We made a few meals in the unit which was nice. The only problem with the kitchen area was our refrigerator did not close properly and the dish washer did not work all that well. It was a great perk to have the washer and dryer in the unit. I love returning from vacation with all clean clothes!

The beds are AMAZING! It might be one of the most comfortable beds that I have ever slept in. It made up for the bedroom being a little on the small side. I thought the bathroom wasted a lot of space, and more closet space in there would have been great. And the shower/ bathtub was odd. It is also very tall and is a big step up to get in and out.

The layout of the resort was also kind of strange. Depending which side you are staying on getting to things like the Oasis (quiet) Pool is a maze; you have to go to the maid pool exit it on the opposite and then follow the path around. There really has to be an easier way than that or cutting through the lobby.

We did not do any of the resort activities and came up with our own activities. The resort was centrally located right off the 101 loop so that made navigating the area very easy. If I ever come back to Phoenix I would definitely consider staying here again.

My husband and I just got back from our stay at the Sheridan Desert Oasis. We were disappointed on many levels.
1) The resort has no resturant or lounge to speak of. The "snack bar" by the pool was only open from 11 - 5. If we wanted any snacks or adult beverages after 5:00, we were out of luck.
2) The shady pool/quiet pool - was just that. If you are hoping for an adult pool with no kids, also expect no music and no sun what so ever.
3) We were told that if we listened to the Sheridan time share, it would only last 90 minutes. We were there for 2.5 hours. When we said NO, the one sales person was not happy. We received a $75 gift card for our time. While we were in the lobby a few days later, they were giving $100 gift cards. Not that that is a big deal, but consistnacy would be nice.
4) No maid service while you are there, so don't expect it. They will bring in towels if asked.
5) Having a car is a MUST. Nothing offered at the resort. There was a lot of areas close by with easy access.
6) Rooms were samll but nice. Had no complaints there.

We traveled with our 8 and 10 year old girls and had family with 6 and 10 year old kids in the unit right next to us. We are not seasoned travelers and are used to a basic hotel rooms with two queen beds. At SDO, we had the larger one bedroom with the jacuzzi. It was great. Everything was clean and attractive.

We had #1119. The quiet pool was right out our door, and the main pool just around the corner. Our kids spent many hours in the pool and had a blast. It is kind of strange that the pool is deepest in the middle - 5 ft. There were plenty of towels and pool chairs.

The eating area in the condo was a bit crowded. The kids had a little trouble getting in and out of the chairs around the table. They banged their knees on the stone supports for the glass top. The bar stools did not slide easily on the carpet, and several of us were injured by scraping up against them. There is free wireless, but not really a good place to put your laptop.

I liked the shower. It allowed me to shampoo the kids' hair without getting wet myself.

If we needed anything, the staff was quick to help us out.

We got a roll away bed for one if our children. We were pleasantly surprised that it was a substantial bed that didn't fold in half. No camping cot here.

The sign out front is not easy to see. We drove past at first and had to go a long way to turn around.

If you go north and pass under the 101 loop, There is a Fry's supermarket - which is a Kroger. If you have the card, things are reasonably priced - if not, not. The card was easy to get, and we shopped there several times.

We did eat once at O'Donahugh's Irish Pub which is near the Fry's supermarket. It was around $15.00 per adult. They have a special through the summer on some of their appitizers - I recommend those. We liked the food. - serving sizes were reasonable, not huge. Shame on O'Donahugh's for charging $6.00 for a kid's bowl of Mac and Cheese. There was absolutely nothing with it, and the serving was small.

You have to go pretty far to find any fast food - no McDonald's, Burger King, etc. very close.

We have some gripes about minor things, but all in all, we had a very positive experience at the Sheraton Desert Oasis and would recommend it to others.

Trips we took - Tuscon area, about 2 hours - Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum - $20+ for family of 4. Liked it a lot - hot!

Sedona - 1 1/2 to 2 hrs - spent a few hours hiking and looking at Bell Rock, Chapel of Holy Cross

Slide Rock State Park - a little north of Sedona - $10 per car load - very cold water - maybe a little dangerous - wouldn't take younger kids. Stayed that night in Flagstaff at the Amerisuites which is under construction - only $70 for a great newly renovated room because the construction made the outside kinda ugly.

Then on to the Grand Canyon- under 2 hrs from Flagstaff - didn't stay too long.

Drove out east 64 - nothing to eat/drink for many miles - desolate, but beautiful.

Same day - Wupatki Ruins and Sunset Crater -

It was a long day, but fun.

Another day, we went to Goldfield - an old mining/ghost town - hokey, hot, kids liked it.
