This is the third time we have stayed at this resort and continue to be very happy with our choice.
Location, cleanliness and friendly staff make it an easy choice.
The decor in the rooms however could use some updating but the cleanliness makes up for that.
The pools are wonderful. Main pool has a lovely waterfall feature and shallow area for kids, along with a splash pad which the children really enjoy. The smaller more secluded pool is great for a relaxing afternoon.
Location of resort makes it easy to navigate around the greater Phoenix area.
Will recommend and return again.

We stayed at the Desert Oasis for 2 nights while traveling with 2 teen-aged kids. The rooms are all suites that feel like mini apartments complete with in-room washer and dryer. The room was extremely clean, and the beds were comfortable. The exterior property was well kept, but it was nothing fancy. It reminded me of my old Phoenix area apartment complex. The pool was nice and had a nice grill/snack bar which came in handy at lunch time, although it was nothing fancy. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The property is located in an area that is out of the way, although this was not a problem for us as there is a strip mall/restaurant on every corner in the Phoenix area. Our room was quiet and we had no road noise, etc. During our stay the hotel was occupied by mostly retired folks, however it was a school week. I would say the best part of our stay was the price - $114 per night was a great price for this level of hotel. It was a great place to spend a couple of nights, however, when we return to Phoenix for spring break, we will probably stay at one of the resorts with a bigger pool and more high-energy teen friendly feel like the Pointe Squaw Peak.

Thank you for your review of our resort! October is a lovely time to visit Scottsdale and we're happy you and your kids were able to relax by the pool. Our resort is a little bit more high energy around spring break time so if you change your mind and wish to return to the Desert Oasis, we'd be happy to welcome you back! Again, thank you for the kind and informative review and enjoy Scottsdale when you return in March!

It was all that and then some. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION, it was centrally located and convenient to everywhere, east, west, north and south. The room was lovely, the bed was inviting and the tub nice. The staff was friendly and helpful in getting me where I needed to go. I HIGHLY recommend staying there and I hope to be back in the future.

My wife and I spent a night here after meeting friends for dinner in Scottsdale, as we did not want to drive home to Tucson, where we live. We got a very good rate on a "villa" - I'd guess about 800-900 square feet - because September is off-season in Arizona. The Desert Oasis is an older complex, but it is well kept up. Our suite was clean and nicely furnished, in a 1980s way -- I'd say over-furnished, but that's a matter of personal preference. The suite included a small kitchen with a stove and refrigerator plus a tiny stacked clothes washer and dryer. The bedroom was huge, and included a large jacuzzi tub, which we did not take advantage of. Overall, we thought it was a fine place to stay for one night, although I don't think I'd buy a timeshare here.

Two notable oddities. First, the lighting. There were well over a dozen wall-mounted and ceiling fixtures, with about 18 light switches to control them. Switches were placed oddly, almost at random, so we had a hard time figuring out which switches controlled which lights. Second, the toilet is equipped with a pressurized "power flush" system that sounds like a small bomb is going off when you flush! You can hear toilets from adjacent units with no trouble.

Still, all in all, we thought this was a pleasant place to stay -- especially at off-season rates.

My wife and I traveled to Scottsdale, AZ for our vacation this year, and decided to stay at the Sheraton Desert Oasis Scottsdale location Aug 14 thru Aug 21... we had always wanted to travel to to Arizona, but we were sorta hesitant about the heat this time of year ... so, as this was our first time in Scottsdale and the Phoenix area, we decided on this location from the comments and photos ... we already are timeshare owners at another resort and traded for this resort ...

What can I say ... the resort amenities were as advertised!! We were not disappointed!!

The front desk, concierge desk, maintenance crew ... heck everybody ... made our stay wonderful ... everyone there was friendly and courteous ...

As a matter of fact, we loved it so much, we decided to become owners!!

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We cannot wait to return next May!

I can not say enough about this hotel. This was our second trip and we have already booked our next week. The property is so well maintained and every detail is attended to. It is a family resort so there is no "night life" or restaurant on property. However, there is a full kitchen and about 70 restaurant within a few miles. This is a fantastic place for a relaxing get away and a great hotel to stay if you want to explore Arizona.

We exchanged our time share to stay here for a week and had a great time. Our suite had modern furnishings, 2 flat screen TVs, nice small porch area in our second floor unit, a very comfortable queen sized bed and pillows, kitchen table and a whirlpool in the very large tub. Because this was the smaller one bedroom unit(500 sq. ft.) the bedroom, although adequate, did not have drawers to store clothes and there was only a partial kitchen--which was fine for us--2 persons. There was a full refrigerator, microwave and a 2 burner stove and complete cooking items and dishes. The unit was fine for 2 persons, but would be tight for a larger family. The unit had a large safe to lock up valuables.

The staff was pleasant, helpful and very responsive to our needs. There were regular activites at the resort--music, games, movies, walks, etc. The resort has 2 pools, one very large, noisy, popular one and one small, quiet one which was in a shaded area. We used that pool which was fine, except when some children were using it with floats and took up the whole pool and when some jerk with a cigar was standing in the pool smelling up the area (those were the only negative comments we had about his place).
There is also an exercise room in the resort and free WIFI is available in the rooms.

The location was good for us. It is in the northern section of Scottsdale on Hayden Road, just south of the 101 Expressway, which gives easy access to the whole area--Phoenix, Tempe, Surprise, etc. Since the resort is about 10 miles from downtown Scottsdale we found it easier to take the 101 south, rather than drive on the slow Scottsdale Blvd.

There are numberous stores, shopping centers and dining options in the area. Frye's-a very good supermarket is on Hayden about 1 1/2 miles north of the resort. Costco and Walmart are about 5 minutes away, south of the resort.

We highly recommend this wonderful resort and hope to return someday.
