We had read the reviews and were nervous about the check in. We were given our parking passes at check in but did speak to the concierge and explained we did not want to buy any more time. We were never pressured nor did we ever get a phone call about it.
They could not have been nicer nor more accommodating. The manager helped me configure my laptop because I could not get access to wireless which I needed for work.
The studio rooms would be better served with some type of divider for couples on different sleep schedules. The night owl cannot leave on a light or tv.

Location: Rental car is needed to visit my family and friends, as well as see Art show and Musical Instrument Museum. Resort is located close to the main roads and highway. Close to Fairmont resort which is a huge property overlooking the pro-golf course (TPC Scottsdale).
Unit and service: Upon check-in, the concierge gave us a welcome bag with bottled water - which was awesome because we arrived late at night, and bottled water was perfect. No annoying timeshare sales pitch. We just said we are not interested and no other follow-up occurred. We requested a renovated unit on the 3rd floor away from the pool noise and potential road noise, and our request was granted. We got 311M, facing the courtyard - very quiet, slept well every night, unit was immaculately clean, adequately furnished with utensils and kitchen appliances. We got a one bedroom for my hubby and myself- it has a DVD player, washer and dryer, a balcony. We didn't know how to operate the DVD player, so we called the guest services, and within a minute we had a maintenance guy showing us how to use it and replacing the remote. Resort has pool activities such as bingo where you get a prize when you win. They also have free chips, salsa, popcorn, and cookies at certain afternoons of the week. Swimming pool (outdoors) was heated, wonderful in Thanksgiving week where the mornings can be chilly (day temp was 50s to 70s, sunny all week), except for one day when it was cloudy). Resort also offers a morning walk two times a week when we stayed there, and several other games and activities for families to participate. It has tennis courts, basketball court and barbacue area. Before Thanksgiving Day, housekeeping even left an aluminum tray for us to use in case we wanted to cook turkey. Ample parking space. The buildings were laid out such that you can park infront of your building. We already know there is no elevator, but we still chose the 3rd floor to avoid any potential noise from floors above us (based on experience with other resorts). Worked out well for us (we are in the early 50s and can still go up and down the 3rd floor as our exercise). Gym has a variety of exercise machines with 2 TVs; well-maintained and clean. Beautiful desert view and mountain views in other buildings, can see those views when we walked around the area. Felt so much in tune with nature in that area, Definitely highly recommendable; we had a terrific enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Based on previous reviews, we requested a quiet unit facing the courtyard on the 3rd floor (if you a...

We are just finishing up our 7 night stay at the Villa Mirage. We were very pleased with our roomy studio: a large bathroom, a mini but adequate kitchen, and nice size living area. We did ask for and receive a newly renovated room.

We found the 90 minute presentation we attended to be quite informative, professional and pleasant. We did not make a purchase because of health reasons but found the product to be quite interesting. Everyone was polite and our gifts were offered with a smile. I suspect that those who have had a less than satisfactory experience may have brought it upon themselves.

We stayed a week to visit family so we didn't use the pool but it looked nice, clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay at the Villa again.

Room Tip: We stayed in a well located building near the pool and registration. Rooms 100-105 were located dow...

Excellent accommodations. Quiet condo near rear of the property. Staff friendly, condo ready even for early morning check in. House keeping was very good. This is a quiet, out of the way place to stay and relax. Many activities for guests, if that's what your looking for. No restaurant or bar, but two within walking distance at nice hotels.
Parking was easy. Short drives to area stores, banks and eating establishments. Golf course nearby.
Have stayed there twice and would go back without thinking twice.

Room Tip: ASK when booking and then follow up about ten days prior to your arrival to make certain your reques...

This visit was quite disappointing. First, the facilities. While just a studio, the room was really quite spacious, and the bathroom was outright huge. Storage is adequate; plenty of space in the bathroom and there are plenty of towels. Other reviewers have addressed the one-time housekeeping… not sure why, many condos only provide mid-week cleaning, if at all. There are no elevators, not an issue for us, but anyone with limited mobility will have trouble. The furnishings, though somewhat dated (think early 90s Southwestern style) were clean and well-maintained. The adjacent suite shares a common door which converts a one-bedroom and studio into a two-bedroom. This door is anything but soundproof. Good thing we shared the door with quiet neighbors. However, a number of items kept the resort from getting a positive recommendation; in fact, this should be a “last resort” exchange, no pun intended.

To start, before we even arrived Diamond Resorts was calling us at home to schedule a timeshare presentation. This has never happened in the past. When told “no” they called back the next day with the promise of a dinner voucher to the Chart House. With the plethora of world-class and Iron Chef-quality restaurants in Scottsdale and Phoenix, why opt for a chain? In the end, they enticed us with a $75 VISA card. The pitch was that it would be a low-pressure 90-minute informational tour and that we would enjoy hearing what Diamond has to offer. Recommendation: DO NOT attend. We received the hard sell from the concierge as we received our parking pass and were reminded with two voicemails. (They require a credit card deposit in order to ensure you show up… that should set off warning bells in your head!) The staff calls two-three times daily to remind guests of their sales presentation, their check-out date, and to provide daily activity information. Not once did we receive a call from the front desk inquiring into our guest room condition. The sales pitch starts off as they all do, but the sales staff tried every sales technique including best-buddy, showing off their family’s scrapbook, denunciation and bad-mouthing of RCI, and deceit. Then the staff, which had more than their share of “I’ll have to confer with the sale manager” and “I see the manager is flagging me, I’ll be right back”, finally showed the price. After offering to buy our timeshare in HI for way more than it’s worth, they continually lowered the price when they saw our sticker shock. In the end, they had lowered the price for product (“This is the ONLY DAY we can offer it this low” and “I’ll dig into my corporate account JUST FOR YOU TODAY”) to ¼ of their original asking price; I wonder what those who take the first offer feel after discovering how low they really could go. When we declined for the 85th time, and the 90-minute presentation reached nearly 3 hours in length, the sales manager came over. Like the rest of the sales staff he was initially our friend, but like the others his demeanor changed completely when he understood we were a no-sale. He left us at the gift desk without a word. In a word, the whole sales presentation was unprofessional and greatly discredits the timeshare business.

As if there weren’t enough negatives in that lengthy diatribe, the hot water problem mentioned in other reviews still exists. Maybe not an issue in May, but it is in November. Also, there is no free wireless (other places have it) but at least there IS a business center. Bottom line: Worst timeshare experience we’ve ever had.

Room Tip: If you have limited mobility, try for a ground floor, since there are no elevators.

We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed your studio unit! The doors you reference in your review are scheduled to be replaced with more sound-proof doors in the upcoming refurbishments.
We have contacted our Marketing department concerning the number of messages left for each guest regarding the opportunity to tour based on guest feedback. The presentations and incentives are recommended for those who are interested in furthering their existing interest in Diamond Resorts International® and THE Club®. Guests of the resort are not obligated to attend. We regret that you had a bad experience with our Sales staff. I have brought all your comments to the attention of our Project Director to address with the staff and sales manager for coaching and review.

We visited this resort in September 2011. The staff are very friendly and helpful but the location is well away from shops / bars / restaurants and the main attractions of Scottsdale. The apartments vary in quality, ours was clean and spacious, having been recently renovated. There is no shop / bar or restaurant on site which was below our expectations. This wasn't made clear to us when we booked our trip and we didn't pick up these details from internet reviews (sadly!). Our particular thanks go out to Mickey the concierge and Bill on front desk for their help and friendship during our stay! Pool is clean and plenty of sunbeds available. Entertainment staff are great. Resort would benefit from more amenities - it doesn't match up to our usual standard I'm afraid!.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room - the others are horrible! Don't come here if you don't plan to re...

Property has a lot to offer, but if your room is poor, the experience is poor. Our studio room should not have been rented -- toilet leaked (we discovered via wet floor in the middle of the night) and we had only sporadic hot water, likely to go cold in the middle of a shower. The room was an older one; all rooms are scheduled for renovation. Staff was nice enough. Toilet was fixed the next day, but delayed our plans. Unfortunately, housekeeping didn't come later to clean the floor and remove wet towels we used to control the water. At 9:30 that evening, staff came quickly to correct the problem, but we shouldn't have had to make the extra call. Front desk staff at check out (we only stayed two nights) promised that a manager would call and "make it right", but apparently only left a message for a front desk manager who was out for several days. We finally called and talked to a manager who was very apologetic and did reimburse our time share points we used for the stay. Resort is trying hard, I think, but older units are not worth anyone's time at this point. Ask for a renovated room, and if none is available, I advise, look elsewhere.

Room Tip: stay in renovated rooms only.
