The shrimp ceviche was the best thing we ordered, and the service was great: attentive and helpful. But presentation was neither innovative nor refined and the food overall did not seem worthy of a top chef. For example, the nachos were gloppy and ordinary, garnished with tired-looking radishes and what appeared to be canned jalapeños -- typical sports bar food. It certainly did not live up to its reputation or expectations.

We arrived and it was completely empty. We ordered appetizers and 40 minutes it arrived. I had to remind them you need serving plates. I order a beer: it arrived with no glass Entree was steak tacos. Tough as heck. And the chef is an Iron Chef? Stay away

We were staying at the Saguaro Hotel, where this restaurant is located, so it was easy to come in for a snack and a margarita; happy hour pricing was also a plus. Their tacos are quite good; we really liked the fish ones. You get 2 small tacos as the bar food order. We also had guacamole for 2. A single order would have been enough, since we were only looking for a snack. It was very nicely done, though perhaps a touch too much lime according to my husband. We weren't very hungry for dinner so after wandering around Scottsdale, we came back and had small plates for dinner. There were 3 tacos (a somewhat different set from the bar offerings). The one with shrimp and chorizo were quite good. I had the shrimp ceviche which was excellent--not bitter at all, not too much raw onion. It wasn't very busy either in the late afternoon or for a late dinner so our service was just fine.

I don't know what the waitress was doing. Looked like she forgot she was working when I had to go get manager. Food was excellent but it was ruined by that

We went to this restaurant because we were staying at The Saguaro. There was a flyer in our room advertising 'taco Tuesday', with reduced prices on tacos. There were a few people in the bar area, only two others in the dining area. The waitress came to our table with menus, but didn't mention anything about the taco Tuesday deals. When I asked, she said 'oh yeah' and then brought the special menu. We ordered several varieties. All were delicious, and well presented. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice (the restaurant opens onto a lovely park), but the service was mediocre and I felt that the wait staff was 'upselling' us at every opportunity, which was just annoying.
