We have stayed here a couple of times for business and have not been disappointed. The spa is excellent and many people that have gone profess the best message they ever received. They were out of Kings when we arrived, but the double was a great location with access to everything. I hiked the Camelback mountain each morning (go early before the heat and crowds) which is only a one mile walk from the property. I really enjoyed their daily fitness schedule including the yoga and daily medication.

Great place. Here were a few highlights:
1) There is a killer yoga class on Sunday at 10:00. The instructor is part life-coach / part-dancer and part-yoga instruction during the one-hour class. I wasn't in the class - but she hosts it on one of the lawns adjacent to the pool.
2) The hotel service is exceptional - and the staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable.
3) The pools / lawns are amazing and can provide days of amusement for those looking for a relaxed trip
4) There is plenty to do: Hiking Camelback, chilling by the pools, playing golf, sampling high-tea. Something for everyone.

Cons:
1) Crowds are a little older.
2) The hotel "feels" a little old when you first walk-in. It is, however, well maintained.
3) Can be pretty expensive - but I was able to snag a discounted rate!

Room Tip: There are many buildings on the property - so you should be aware of the specific rooms you're b...

This is a true luxury hotel/resort. Extensive and very impressive art collection (with an audio self-tour), beautiful cactus garden. Restaurants leave something to be desired (separate reviews). Rooms are perfect, service is excellent. Location is very convenient to other Scottsdale/Phoenix attractions, but you need a car for that. Highly recomment self-parking; it's easy and convenient; less expensive.

I've stayed here 5 times over the past 10-12 years , all for corporate events. The quality of the staff is outstanding and the grounds are immaculate. This time I unfortunately had a lousey room location and in spite of Starwoods Preferred staus was told "we have no other rooms". I made it clear I was unhappy. Quietly I was hoping I would get a call back the next day suggesting another room, but that call did not come. In fairness, my expectaion came because of past excellent experiences. If you a re corporate travel professional you probably already know that this and the Biltmore are consistently as good as it gets for large groups. Food was superb at all buffets and sit down meals.

Room Tip: DO NOT accept Room 4001! Make your preferences known early, they will likely be accomidated.

Thank you for your continued patronage. We sincerely appreciate your selection of The Phoenician as your group destination when in Scottsdale. While we genuinely regret the oversight in reaching out to you during your stay, please note that every effort is made to accommodate room change requests; as you mentioned, the earlier such an inquiry is received, the greater the opportunity that other arrangements can be confirmed. We appreciate your kind comments regarding our Food & Beverage offerings. We are committed to providing each and every guest with a savory, signature dining experience, whether a party of one, or a party of 600. We look forward to your sixth visit!

A fabulous hotel in a lovely location. Great if you like golf as it has its own beautiful golf course. Even better if you like swimming - are eleven pools enough for you?

Our hotel room was very spacious and had a fabulous bathroom. Be careful about your view though. Don't ask - as we did - for a view of the mountain. You end up being almost on the mountain - with no view at all! And a dim room into the bargain! I also found that all the corridors smelt a little damp and musty - although the rooms didn't.

Aside from breakfast, we didn't eat in the hotel. We tried the buffet breakfast one day but found that the little cafe near the lobby was just as nice, less expensive and had much better service!

All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor, overlooking the pools or the golf course.

Went to the Phoenician for a girl get a way trip in April. The property is beautiful but maybe a little too big. We were in the main building and I didn't like going through almost a maze to find the gym, luckily the landscapers were helpful in navigating us through. The gym was nice and clean, had plenty of equipment and a studio as well. I did not care for the bathroom set up personally the tub would be great for a small child but definitely not a soaking tub. I dislike when the vanity is in the bathroom, when you have more than one traveler it makes it hard to get ready. I did eat breakfast and found our waitress to be indifferent when I ask her to take back the burnt toast she served. For the cost of breakfast (6 dollars for mediocre coffee) I would expect the waitress to look at what they are serving. All of the other employees that I encountered were wonderful. I do think they need more attendants at the pool, we did have to hunt down help with an umbrella. Don't know if I will stay again on our next trip but it was definitely worth trying once. Thought the spa services were overpriced so we booked at the Gainy Ranch instead and had a fabulous experience. Definitely a good location for shopping and eating at some great restaurants.

Not a great pool vibe. Guests were boring and rude. The resort and staff were amazing!

Thank you for joining us here at The Phoenician! We are disappointed to learn that you did not find a more social environment at our pool complex. Typically, the resort’s eight pools serve as the centerpiece to the guest experience, where water sports, a popular bar and grill, as well as relaxing, full-service cabanas create a fun and engaging atmosphere. We’re so pleased our AAA Five Diamond service and offerings were to your liking. Our commitment to creating a remarkable and memorable stay is the cornerstone of our operations. We look forward to having you with us again in the future!
