We went to Pure years ago at their old town location and had an incredible experience. Our visit to the original Pure in North Scottsdale did not disappoint by way of food, style, or speed of service- we had an excellent waiter who took great care of us. Their rolls were creative, but didn’t stray TOO far from the rolls we know and love, which I really appreciated, but they did put their own spin on things which was fantastic and worked in every way. We ordered several rolls and starters to share, so we were impressed by the pace at which everything came. We were never bombarded by food or left hungry. The quality of everything was great- and if pressed, I’d say the PURE crunch roll and the baked lobster roll were our favorites of the evening.
The only thing I could mention that started things off a bit rocky was when we arrived and were seated by our hostess. The table which we were given was really crowded in between other tables and right next to the door. A man was pushed back into my seat and we really couldn’t get comfortable. When we asked to please be reseated, we were given an eye roll and the hostess said no, because the other tables were reserved. We’d reserved our table as well- weeks in advance- so we were a bit put off that she claimed to be holding those tables for others when we had just as much of a “right” if you will, to sit there. I corrected her and mentioned the reservation and that we would please like to move. She didn’t reseat us and in fact walked off to do something else, so we were grateful that another hostess quickly reseated us in her absence once asked as the restaurant was quite full.
Otherwise, everything was wonderful and the food was great, so we will definitely be coming back to our new favorite sushi spot.
