Everything is as advertised. Just kind of expensive. Very relaxing accommodations and excellent service.

Stayed for a 2 night break in May from the 100+ heat further south in Scottsdale and would highly recommend L'auberge. Lots of little individual touches set it apart from the major chains, like the free shuttle up the hill to downtown Sedona, morning coffee & scones, duck feeding, riverside restaurant and no tipping policy. The rooms are nice, if not spectacular, the pool similar, but the excellent service elevates L'auberge. The quality of food and the ambience of the restaurant sitting right over the river make it unique. Unfortunately one star knocked off for a truly inept bar service on one evening.

We were seated at a table next to Oak Creek, where a crane stood on a rock and waited for a fish, and ducks floated by, and the creek lulled us into a dream state while the setting sunlight flickered through the trees.

The food was very good, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was exceptionally articulate, funny, and quick to pick up on our preferences. She was sensitive not to interrupt us when we were deep in conversation, and fast on her feet to whisk an appetizer away and to replace it when one of us didn't react well to it.

We were lucky enough to be at L'Auberge when an eclipse occurred, and the light over the creek dimmed for a while. Waiters and waitresses lit candles for us. It was very memorable.

All three of us loved our evening at L'Auberge. Lovely creekside location, exceptional waitress, fresh and well-crafted food. One of the best restaurants we've ever been to in the U.S.

Serene, Quiet (and please keep it that way), understated and beautiful. We can't wait to go back! Not a hotel for children, but for those who want the whole Sedona experience.

Nice, but a but overrated for the price. Don't eat here, way over priced. Get your own boxed lunch and eat at the chairs/tables down by the creek. Keep your feet up off the dirt or you may get a few ants crawling up your legs. the lodge has nice rooms but no view. Seems to be hotel traffic at all hours of the night outside. Landscaping blower was so loud this morning for over an hour. Something wrong with the A/C unit in our room, each time it shuts off there's a loud bang like a steel door shutting which wakes you up each time and since it's about 85 degrees right now it was over and over all night. Great location but it looks like there are other hotels around to consider.

We spent a long weekend here relaxing before a business conference in Phoenix. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were pampered. But unlike many stuffier luxury hotels, this is like being in the guest house of your (very wealthy) best friends.

We stayed in a view cottage halfway up the cliffs, overlooking the rest of the resort. Other options are to stay creekside (cool and leafy), or by the spa (gardens and trees). The "cliff dwellings" are literally hanging on the hillside, so not much in the way of grass, plants or shade, but Oh, the views! We watched sunrises and sunsets from our private balcony. Also, you do have to climb steps to enter some of these cottages, so be advised when booking. No need to worry about your baggage though; the bell staff drive you and your bags to the cottage and THEY carry the bags up the steps! All grats are included in your charges, and they will drive you to/from the cottage any time day or night.

The best part of our stay, much to our surprise, was the private cedar outdoor shower. Accessed from the bath and adjacent to the indoor shower, this was amazing. The sun baked the wood during the day, so the scent was strong as we showered for dinner. We never used the indoor shower! At night we showered under the stars.

Food, spa, and overall service was equally wonderful. We will go back first chance we get. Yes it's not the least expensive choice of many in Sedona, but it is definitely worth the experience if you can afford it.

Just got back from L'Auberge; it is tired and worn and needs to be redone. When you drive in, they have these fake cottages built perpendicular from the hill - beyond horrid looking. The whole place now looks artificial quaint. The inside is worn - to check in you sit at a worn desk with chipped wood and the staff "brings out" a leather folder with your name on it, that has worn corners. It's just really odd - the whole experience because the interiors (including our room) were so dated and horrid. The staff are incredibly nice, the food is good, but a person cannot help but feel uncomfortable in such worn surroundings, at such a high price. I won't be going back there. And the facility really offers nothing to do, no classes (one yoga class), no hiking, etc. It's like they are stuck in the 70's and the property looks like it.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for the old cottages? No clue. Go to another hotel?
