We recently stayed at Sky Ranch. Unfortunately we only stayed one night. Besides the beautiful view the thing I found most interesting was the wide range of guests. We met people from different countries and of all different ages in just one night there. The rooms are "retro" but really original. They are clean. We had a view room but you don't need one as there is a large garden area with a fabulous view for all to share. The hotels buildings are surrounded by gardens and lots of hummingbirds to watch. The pool was nice and it was a good place to meet other guests.

Great view and nice land next to the airport. Pool and spa were nice. There was a very limited staff in the evenings and the bar was underwhelming. Overall a nice retreat and out of the main tourist area.

We just spent 4 nights at the Sky Ranch Lodge and had a wonderful time. The room was a little worn but it was clean and spacious. We had a standard king garden view so there was no refrigarator. The gardens were lovely and we had a short walk to the pool. We really enjoyed the patio that overlooks the valley. The view is very beautiful. They had a guest laundry that we made use of. It is just a mile drive up to airport mesa so it was convient to everything. You could buy a Red Rocks pass in the office.

What a lovely spot...! The rooms are older (could use a facelift), but clean as a whistle. The garden is lovely (nice pool and bar area!), offering all guests a beautiful spot from which to watch the breathtaking sunset. A well-informed desk staff is on hand with a cup of coffee, and a point in the right direction - best tip: the Mesa Grill restaurant - fabulous, and an easy walk from the lodge).

Room Tip: Make sure to explore the garden - even if you don't have a patio overlooking the rocks, you stil...

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night between travelling from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon. It is relatively close to Sedona's city centre (a five minute drive) but a bit farther from Slide Rock which takes 15 - 20 minutes.

The most striking thing about this hotel is the view it provides you of the city of Sedona, you literally feel like you're at the best and highest vantage point for overseeing the surroundings. Of course, this is facilitated by the hotel which has set up a scenic viewpoint for its guests. Therefore, if you choose to stay in this hotel, there is no need to visit the nearby airport for the view (a much-recited tip). The sunset was magnificent with the sky changing colours and painting everything a beautiful red.

As for the hotel itself, the service was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean. There are rooms by the poolside and next to a nice little garden with a pond (our room was by the latter). There are parking spots behind each room (sort of motel-like) so you don't need to haul your luggage too far.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sedona.

We stayed two nights and decided on a garden view room as it was less expensive. Sure glad we did too because it was more secluded and a terrific tourist view of rock formations is just a quick walk down from the lodge. This lodge has lovely, inviting grounds and a nice large patio area to view the sunset, red rocks and Sedona. The clerk that checked us in was somewhat helpful but not overly friendly, the next day and after the other clerk was very cordial and friendly. They have a wine bar and patio too. This is an older property but appears they try to keep it up. Our AC did not cool very well even at 68 setting and our TV did not work but that was okay because we were too busy doing other stuff. The shower head was terrible and the shower area small but functional. We felt the price okay for surroundings and room. They don't serve a breakfast or such but found out later that the airport, just next to it, has the Mesa Grill that serves.all three meals, pricey though. Staff was courteous about printing boarding pass on last day and let us leave our vehicle after checking out so we could go on jeep tour.
We liked that it was off the beaten bath and quite and secluded. Lots of other choices though if you prefer modern and fancy.

The hotel is quite basic but very lovely. The rooms are a bit dated but it would be ridiculous to rate this hotel on the room and not the view. We were in cabin 271, which I think was one of the best two rooms on the property. It is only one room away from the official viewing site on the way up the hill. The hotel is located at the top of a fabulous mesa on the same road as the airport. It is in a great location to explore the town of Sedona as well as the surrounding attractions. And every evening you get to come back to that view! The room had a small kitchenette which was great for storing water and heating up leftovers for breakfast. I would recommend this hotel for the views if you're able to get one of the rooms over looking Sedona.

Room Tip: Rooms 271 and 272, I think are the best on the property for the views.
