We did this as a shuttle hike, leaving one car at the Andante Trailhead, and the other car at the Dry Creek Vista Trailhead, where we started this two-hour, approximately two mile hike. The hike starts out easy on relatively flat ground. After about three quarters of a mile, the trail turns sharply to the left and begins a climb to the base of Thunder Mountain. You have to do a little rock scrambling, but it isn't hard, and the views are very good. You continue along the base of Thunder Mountain, and that area is very pretty with good views. The Chimney Rock trail also has good views, and that will bring you to the Thunder Mountain Trail and the Andante Trail to your car.
