This is a favorite hike of ours; it is not too overly taxing, the incline at the front-end has... read more

Not too mch elevation gain/loss. Not one of the great hikes but it's easy and gets you some nice view points.

Turn off to the left on 170 just after the bridge over the creek at the Circle K and there is a small car park. Walk up the hill to the higher level and you will find some interesting trails, one that goes to Schneebly Hill Road and the other south towards Courthouse Rock.

Almost 3 miles round-trip, plan for about an hour and a half, more if you stop to sit along the way and take lots of pictures. Turn at the Circle K (Sombart Lane) and head up the hill.

Margs Draw trail head off the road is at the half way point on the Munds Mountain Wilderness trail. Either way, the views are great. Turn to the left for a hike around Crimson Cliffs and Schnebly Road. Turn to the right for a hike Broken Arrow trail head.

Both hikes aren't all that far from homes and city views but they are well shielded by the vegetation so there is always back-country feeling.

The trailhead for this hike was right outside our hotel room, so we thought we'd give it a try. What a treat! You start out with a sharp incline, but it doesn't last long. You quickly level out on a Mesa that is rimmed by stunning rock formations. We came to a fork and went right, which was gorgeous, but I want to go back and try the left side. You can go as far as you like. We went for about an hour and a half with an occasional rise and fall in the trail, but it is mostly level once you are past the initial ascent. Beautiful hike!

This trail was nice, but it wasn't one of my favorites. I liked the Huckaby trail better, which is in the same area. I think it was just that I missed the creek. Otherwise, it was a nice trail. There was a nice view from the top.
