We decided if we are going to Winslow, we hafta stay here seeing how its a landmark! We were greeted with a very warm welcome at check in. Our room was everything we hoped it to be. It's old fashion decor and style had just a little modern twist. The room faced one of the gardens, but it was misting rain when we arrived, so we just took in a little TV. I happened to get a glimpse of a sunset out the window, so I had to go check it out. I love getting those sunset pics, especially when they are unexpected. The cloudy skies let the golden sunset peak through. I noticed an arch of some type on a neighboring property, and just so happens, the sun lined up perfect and posed for a pic! It was one of those right place at the right time things, and the rain even stopped long enough for me to get a pic or three!
We enjoyed dinner in The Turquoise Room, located inside the hotel. This is a must if you are staying here. We made prior reservations, but they didn't seem to be too busy the night we were there. There are several rooms in the foyer and hallways filled with memorabilia from back in the day. We didn't see even half of what they had to offer, but really enjoyed what we did see.
Our king size bed was very comfortable and we got a good nights rest. The next morning, we did get to check out a couple of the gardens before we checked out to go stand on the corner :) Before we left town, the hotel called us. They said that we had left a charger behind, so we turned around and went back. Ends up that it wasn't ours but we were thankful they made the attempt to contact us!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing away from the railroad if you don't like the noise.

I'd give this place a 5 from a historical perspective and a 3 from a creature comfort perspective for an average of 4.

Very good job of recreating the era. Lots of historical artifacts to peruse. Nostalgic to see the trains go by.

Short walk to "The Corner".

Would we stay here again. Sure.

This hotel has soo much history and the rebuild has been just fantastic. This is truly one of the best hotels in the State. The rooms are very good and furnished very well. The train still stops here, Amtrak I believe. The interior and the outside of the hotel have been furnished and designed just great. Truly an experience that everybody should experience.

What a wonderful treat after a long, hot day. We are visiting several National Parks and historical sites. We had spent a long day in 98+ degrees at the Hoover Dam and then had a 3 hour drive to Winslow with Plans to visit the Petrified National Forest the next day. The mapping app on my phone sent us down wrong street. The staffer at the La Posada who answered my call was very kind and patient giving us spot on directions to hotel. Then when we were confused in dark about entrance location to lobby, another call and he came out to parking with a bell cart and helped us get registered and get our bags to room. The room was gorgeous! Bed very comfortable. The whirlpool tub went a long way towards reviving and making us feel human again. The next day we took part of the self guided tour and were amazed at the wonderful and different art displayed. The grounds were beautiful. If we get to come back to Winslow, we will definitely allow more time to fully explore the La Posada. Arrived too late for dinner, but breakfast in the Turquoise room was delightful. Service and food were excellent. Would highly recommend the La Posada!

The game room was awesome. Kids loved to play with the games and activities and made new friends while adults could have comfortable place to catch up. The best part it was off the lobby so there was not a lot of people filtering by.

A lovingly restored Hotel that fronts the Santa Fe Railroad Tracks!
This hotel is "living history"; built by the woman architect, Mary Jane Coulter in the 1800's, and formerly a Harvey House Hotel/Restaurant when the Santa Fe railroad was at its peak! Authentic as well as carefully crafted pieces of furniture adorn every public room! The translation of La Posada is "The Resting Place"; where you can find a quiet corner to sit quietly and read, stitch or contemplate! While staying at La Posada, you will feel like you are a guest in someone's home! There is a huge collection of Contemporary Art by the owner's wife; many newspaper articles from old newspapers. Each guest room is named for a famous person who stayed in that room!
The Gift Shop is open 24/7 (!) and offers a huge selection of ceramics, native American jewelry and more. There is also a separate book shop! Within the hotel is The Turquoise Room Restaurant which offers a fine dining experience for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Add this to your Bucket List!!!

Room Tip: Trains run day and nite, but won't keep you up; Two stories - NO elevator. Seniors should book...

What a fabulous find! Was told to stay here by a friend. Thank god I listened! Much more than a gorgeous, historical place! The attention to detail is second to none. The artist (and owned) is phenomenal! Glorious, curious, thought provoking. This space is a Gem! From the gourmet restaurant to the passing trains, to the pollination gardens and artwork, every detail big or small, is perfection! Come here for a romantic getaway or simply to indulge in the glory of days gone by and fill your head with the beautiful history of the west that was.
This should be 5 diamond! Love it and can not wait to return!!!
