Just returned from a week in Pas de la Casa. Manzano as many have said before is basic but everything in our apartment was clean and functioned perfectly. For what we paid it is incredible value for money and would definitely stay here again.

We had breakfast downstairs a couple of times which again is great value but not the best quality.

Tonnes of restaurants and bars very close too. The walk up the hill as people describe is no where near what we were expecting given previous reviews - you are on a skiing holiday in the mountains after all!!

The Manzano apartments in Pas de la Casa are very basic; however, they are very convenient for access to the skiing area and the lifts. Rooms are simply furnished with basic kitchenettes and bathrooms. We were a party of four and we were allocated a 5 person room which had a large open plan room with 5 single beds and basic furniture. Whilst the apartments are self-catering given the very basic kitchen you would struggle to cater for four or five people so if you do stay at Manzano plan to eat out for dinner. Crockery and cutlery was all odd stuff and when we did breakfast on the first morning I had to wash everything first as it didn’t appear to be that clean.

On the ground floor is a bar which serves reasonably priced food and drinks and on most nights was relatively busy. Don’t expect gourmet food, it was Burgers, Pizza’s, kebabs and the like. They do offer a cooked breakfast to purchase, we had bacon sandwiches on a couple of mornings which were pretty good. There are also ski lockers allocated to each room which are large enough to store all your ski equipment.

The hotel takes a 150 euro cash security deposit for all rooms so make sure you arrive with enough money to cover that and you are expected to leave the apartment clean, strip the beds and fold up the bedding before you leave. All this smacks of more of a hostel than a hotel which it is really.

We didn’t book Manzano originally. We were supposed to stay at Olimpiades which are 3 star piste side apartments. However, with two months to go, Neilson informed us that Olimpiades were double booked and Nielson offered us a different resort or Manzano. As we were going in February half term we had no choice but to accept or cancel and have our money back.
One last thing, on the last night we were having a drink in the bar and a stray dog walked in and decided to do its business under a table. What disturbed me the most was the staff’s casual attitude to this and their half-hearted attempt to clean up the area. Manzano apartments are not a place that I can recommend.

Room Tip: Use the ski lockers provided by the apartment. Your tour operator might try to sell you ski storage nearer the slopes but you don't need it as apartments aren't very far away.

Hotel is very good location only 4-5 min walk to the slops and 8-10min to resort centre. Rooms were basic but everything we needed, hotel was noisie at night as the hotel was mainly full people in their 20s coming back late after a few drinks. I had a 3 bed apartment with 1 separate bedroom, while the heating was fine at my end of the apartment at the other end where my kids were it was colder and the windows were drafty. Would I stay here again..... Maybe it's not for families but was a good location and good base to operate from

stayed here for one week and it is the worst hotel experience of my life. The room was cold and drafty, some of the staff were rude and confrontational, the rooms were ill prepared in fact they almost charged us for a plate that was already broken when we arrived!!!

The food was cold by the time it was served due to the place being grossly understaffed.

The walls are paper thin so if you like not sleeping all week then this is the place for you!! We had to strip down our own beds at the end of the week and empty all of the bins or face a 25 euro fine.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Stayed for a week will never stay again, the room was freezing all the time even with heating on full! Stay clear of room 51, the hotel is noisy and very understaffed! Beds not changed all week! This is a very basic hotel where you have to do it your self.
