You check in and they never ask you to pay upfront which I found strange but they said it's ok. Very trusting I guess. As soon as we checked in we never saw staff again, whether we needed towels or anything. The restaurant attached to the hotel closes at 10pm and after that you have to go in the back and there is no one around if you need anything. Reception and the nice couches in the reception area are closed off to you after 10 and it's the only place WiFi reaches. So I had to look up our itinerary for the next day and confirm bookings and I couldn't get wifi in our room, which was right next to reception but the door to reception was locked.

I went to this couch in the back of the hallway of the hotel and had to use international data which barely worked.

When we woke in the morning the guy running breakfast was there and kept shutting the door the breakfast area as we packed up the car at 7am. Because technically they were closed until 8am. We were later for getting to Castellane for a booking and at 7:30am the guy running the restaurant said no one will arrive until 8am and sorry we should have paid sooner...even though they insisted we shouldn't pay ahead of time.

Overall, wold not recommend this place as the staff were never even there. We didn't eat at the restauarant so can't attest to the food. The rooms were tiny for 4 people, at least ours was, and the staff were overall not helpful.

The best of this hotel is it's location. While having dinner or breakfast on the terrace you have a beautiful view over the lake.

The hotel itself is ok, we had a room which was located above the kitchen. No lake view. There was noise coming from the kitchen ventilation system, also heat came from the wall and this without air-conditioning on a hot summer night was not very pleasant.

Dinner was great and breakfast was average. Overall we had a nice stay!
