As a single female archaeologist visiting sites in North Tipperary, I chose the Williamsferry House for the free carpark. Little did I know that Brian and Mary were wonderful hosts who helped me meet local archaeologists and provided a wonderful place to stay. The house is fabulous, breakfast was wonderful (homecooked!), the room was comfortable and spacious. If you wanted to chat, they were around to help out with questions and keep you company over tea, if you wanted to run up to your room and hide, they left you alone to view the digital TV. My stay was lovely and I'll be sure to stay again!

Room Tip: My upstairs room was lovely and ensuite.

Was glad that you got to meet some of our local archeologists and got to see some sites (from the remains of old castles to ringforts) in the area as part of your research. Thank you for your kind comments and we wish you all the best with your studies. Hope to see you back in Nenagh sometime in the future. Mary & Brian

We travaled trough Ireland, every day another place. When we left this house we were sorry not to stay longer time. All was perfect. One of the best B and B on our journey. If we come back? We are from Switzerland.... but if we have un opportunity, surely. Greetings from Thierry and Yarka

We had chosen Williamsferry House initially because it seemed an ideal stooping off point between Tralee and Dublin. We were at the end of a week's dog-showing, the 'Munster circuit'. What we had not appreciated was (1) that it was the same B&B chosen by Seamus, Gerry others who had similar dogs to ours (dachshunds) and whom we had got to know during the week and (2) that the accommodation would be so good and welcoming. The room was excellent, furnished to a high standard, plenty of room and with a good bed (how often is a stay ruined by a poor night's sleep?). The food was excellent though with a little foresight on our part we would have asked for an evening meal menu in advance and chosen to eat in - the choice looked very inviting and if anything like the breakfast would have been better than going into town (though no real complaints there). The dogs were welcomed - we did not by agreement take them into the house but we are to leave them safely in the car within the walled garden/car parking area. We shall have to make sure that we book early next year!

It was lovely to see all the dachshunds on tour and they were so beautifully groomed and so well behaved - (not a sound from them all night). Seamus, Gerry and Co call on us each time they are attending competitions around the south of Ireland and we welcome pets where the owners have the facilities for them to sleep in their cars. Our garden and carpark give the dog some freedom for their playtime and the owners who are so responsible with their dogs are a credit too. Was lovely to have met you all and look forward to your return trip to Williamsferry in the future. Kind Regards Mary and Brian

FANTASTIC B&B. Brian and Mary made us feel very welcome. The room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and very spacious and the bed very comfortable. The choice at breakfast and quality of the food would put many hotels too shame. We cannot recommend it enough. We will be back

I was visiting a dear friend in a neighboring town who referred me to the B&B owned by friends, Brian and Mary Devine. This beautifully decorated and perfectly situated stately, spacious and comfortable home was indeed, "Divine"! Nenagh itself is a lovely fairly large older town with all kinds of modern businesses, housed in the classic Irish architecture of the early 20th century. The stately older government buildings, church, and castle there in the town of Nenagh, are excellent focal points as are the breathtaking sunsets over the town cemetery. Nearby Lough Derg, town of Garykennedy, and the harbor provide old world charm and breathtaking beauty. There in Co. Tipperary, one is perfectly situated to stay in Williamsferry B&B as a jumping off point or base, for further travel throughout the south and west of Ireland. I can't WAIT to go again someday!

Thank you for your lovely review of your experience around Nenagh and nearby Garrykennedy village on Lough Derg. On a looped tour around Lough Derg you can visit many beautiful villages and viewing points - it is also a great area for walking and cycling (we have maps and bicycles which you might like to try out on your next visit) as well as taking a cruise up the lake or touring around by car. Glad you found Nenagh a great central location for touring and as it is ideally located on the M7 motorway route, it is very accessible to many of the key visitor experiences which we have indicated on our website. Looking forward to having you stay again sometime in the future. All the very best in the meantime. Mary & Brian

We would like to share with other travellers our truly wonderful experience at Williamsferry House, Nenagh, Ireland. We are recently retired professional couple and had travelled from Australia to visit Ireland in June 2011 to search out my father’s birth place. To make the experience worthwhile we chose two B&Bs on the internet, one in Nenagh and the other in Dingle. We were pleasantly overwhelmed with the very warm and welcoming experience in our first B&B in Nenagh. When we arrived and met Mary and Bryan our hosts, we were invited into the very homey lounge room to relax after the long drive while Mary prepared a pot of tea and warm scones. Wow what a great start!! After some pleasant exchanges we were then shown into our cosy room. I asked for the possibility of a heater as I feel the cold and without hesitation Mary accommodated me with one in minutes. Breakfast is brilliant...from a full Irish breakfast to yummy organic porridge tea/coffee and toast. Mary and Bryan were very helpful with all of our needs including doing our laundry for a small fee. Williamsferry House is well located and only a short walk into the town centre. While in town we had great meals and drinks at the Hibernian Hotel. After two relaxing days in Nenagh we travelled on to Dingle where we had a totally opposite experience. (See Emlagh Lodge). After being totally floored by such a negative experience in Dingle we phoned Mary and Bryan to ask if they had accommodation for the following nights and fortunately they did. So we trekked back and once again Mary and Bryan welcomed us in and Mary commented... “Coming back a second time makes you family...” and yes we did really feel that way!! To help us overcome the negative experience we had in Dingle, Mary offered my husband a French coffee (brandy laced) and me a wine which went a long way to calm me. Once again we felt very much at home with Mary and Bryan. We spent the next two days discovering the local environs and went to Bunratty Castle on Bryan’s suggestion... a great insight too life in early Ireland! With such a friendly and warm reception at Williamsferry House we left so contented with fond memories of our experiences in the Nenagh area. We highly recommend to other travellers to at least consider Williamsferry House B&B, Nenagh, as a home away from home when in Ireland. Thank you Mary and Bryan...

We hope you found further information on the family treee and maybe met some distant relatives as you continued your search after your stay with us. We wish you both all the best in the future and it was very nice having you stay with us here in Nenagh. Mary and Brian

Now we are back home in Norway again after a lovely stay and driving around in Ireland.
And we vil especially emphasize that we loved our stay at Williamsferry House. It was probable the best stay we had among many other accommodations. It was definitively the best internet offer we could fine in our journey around in Ireland. And we stayed in various B& B`s and in Hotels. We use the Internett during our holydays to plan the next place to go, so it is importent for us to have internett access that actually works. To Mary and Brian GOOD!!
