Having spent last weekend in Bloomfield House Hotel in Mullingar for the first time I was very impressed by the quality of the rooms and the food served in the restaurant, but what impressed me most was the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, they could not be better. I will definitely return as soon as I can. The hotel's location and setting is really nice so all round it was well worth visiting and I will definitely return.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the lake would be a good choice.

Just the place to get away from it all and recharge the batteries.Excellent food, very friendly and efficient staff. Excellent Leisure + Gym (we didn't try spa treatment on this our first visit to this hotel ) .The icing on the cake has to be the beautiful view of Lough Ennel which literally backs onto grounds of the hotel.
The Hotel is located approx. 2.5 miles from Mullingar town. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning.

I stayed with a group of friends in March and had a wonderful time. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable and the food is fantastic. We had dinner in the hotel dining room which is bright and airy on one of the nights and it was superb. The menu offers a good variety of dishes and the staff are very friendly and efficient. I had the tomato soup to start which I must say was the best I've tasted yet, followed by a delicious main course and dessert. Looking forward to my next visit already 10/10

after having a great Easter egg hunt with the kids at the Belveder house we decided on our way back to stop at the bloomfield hotel for lunch, and here is our experience:
the place was really busy , which i believed was a good sign.
as we came in the bar(family of 5) nobody directed us or offered any assistance with baby chair,
after sitting at the table for a long time i noticed that service was non existent and that lunch was carvery, which i have no problem with as long as it is indicated whenever you arrive, but here no.
as i was waiting (as many...)at the carvery station, i toke the time to observe how did the all offering of foods was handle with.
it is very clear that this place is not a food destination as i could see that the quality and presentation of the food in the bain marie was the least"shocking" (from over cooked vegetables, tasteless & unseasoned rice and "chicken curry" ) cold cartboarded chicken nuggets, with soggy chips,......anyway this could go on and on.
my point is , it doesn't take that much to do something nice and tasty, just a bit of passion and flair.
as a chef myself i do understand very well that many kitchen are under a lots of pressure at the moment due to the economic climate, but i also understand very well the fact that people in charge of the food production in this place are putting not only there business at risk but most importantly the all team which is very unfair
the celtic tiger is well gone and it's time to wake-up

We stayed here for 2 nights over Easter. The hotel building itself is a bit dated, I've definitely stayed in nicer, but it is clean and well kept. We found the dinner really good on both days. The breakfast wasn't the best on one of the days but was nice on the second. The pool and bouncing castle were great for the kids, and there is also a free kids club for kids over 4. We'd definitely go back there at some point. It was a good value break with very few negatives.

Just came back from weekend in Bloomfield House.
Hotel rooms were nice & quiet, staff were helpful and setting was very pleasant but poor food let it down.
Had booked a weekend deal with 1 evening meal on day of choice.
Menu was poor with a €9.00 supplement on a steak.
One of the parties had a dietary requirement and was unable to select anything from the menu as at 8.00pm the joint of the day had sold out with no replacement.
We made decision to eat in the bar and the €25 allowed in the restaurant became €20.00 in bar.
When I tried to order my choice from the bar menu it was unavailable again.
I work in the industry and would be appalled if any visitors from other countries think that this is a refection on all hotels.
I know that it was an Easter weekend and a wedding was booked but to run out of food on a Saturday evening is unacceptable.
Breakfast was a deep fried fiesta with little choice of health options.
