“Wonderful location”
Reviewed September 20, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Just spent seven great days at Castle View before moving to Nerja. The property is lovely and has everything you need. The views from the roof terrace are breathtaking and is an amazing place to sit and watch the sun go down. Many thanks to Rupert for guiding us into the property and for showing us where to park which was easily done.

Many thanks

“Amazing view over Antequera”
Reviewed August 23, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

The house is located on a hillside of Antequera. It offers an amazing view over the city and the surrounding mountains.
The pool is actually bigger than it looks on the pictures and it was really lovely to dip in and enjoy the views.
It's only a short walk to the city and in the evening we just took a taxi back (6€). It's not difficult to get a taxi, just ask in the last place where you had something to eat or drink and they'll call one for you.
Melanie and Rupert got us a map and showed all the best places for tapas and restaurants.
We had a very good stay and look forward to coming back soon!

“Our first visit”
Reviewed June 9, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Absolutely lovely.. Rupert met and guided us through the tiny streets. We enjoyed visiting the town for tapas and menu of the day ( plenty of choice but liked maison Diego best ). Although most of the time we just wanted to stay at Castle view and enjoy the pool and sitting areas outside . If we needed supplies the nearby shop was very friendly as we're the locals who let us know we had left our car lights on. A lovely stay and sad to leave.

“Super apartment, terrific views, pity about the hill”

This house is exceptionally well equipped with everything as advertised including excellent Wifi. The terrace is very private, ideal for lying in the sun and with a great view looking over the town to the castle - a pleasure to have a meal or a drink there in the evening watching the swallows swooping and diving over the town. The owner was very helpful with organising transport to and from Airport and with his advice on the town, including eating places. Very quiet, no problem sleeping. The only snag is the fairly brutal hill that needs to be negoiated to reach the house - OK if you are always in a car, have nothing heavy to carry or are pretty fit. When carrying shopping, we always got a taxi (5 or 6 euros) and very often also when returning in the evening after a meal or outing - (we are both reasonably fit but nearer to 70 than 60). The neighbourhood shop, a few yards away, is good for essentals such as milk, water and bread. All in all, a great place, super view - but it is up a hill.

“Wonderful base for Andalusia”

My husband and I stayed in the house for the second week of October. We found it to be as described - the view is fabulous, the kitchen well-equipped and the beds comfy. Rupert met us on the edge of town and did a great job getting us settled. We drove a rather large rental car in and out of Antequera daily, and though at first it was confusing, we soon learned that the house was very convenient to the highway and we found parking just up the hill (near the dumpster). Antequera has some great restaurants. We tried several that Rupert recommended with Meson Adarve our hands-down favorite. We spent a day seeing the sights in Antequera and as mentioned, drove to Granada, Cordoba, Ronda and Seville - all very reasonable day trips from this base.

“Great place , but has a few issues”

Pictures and description are spot on. The apartment was fantastic, but there are a few things that need to be pointed out. It is high above the old town which means to get to it, you have to drive or walk up some steep hills. If you don't like driving up narrow one way roads with only enough room to get a small car passed parked cars - this is not a place for you. If you can't hike up steep hills or steps - this is not a place for you. There is parking close to the apartment, but it's 1st come 1st serve - in other words, no dedicated parking spot. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing, enjoyable stay. A few other things though. There is no hot water tank, just a burner that heats up water as you need it. So for you North Americans that like to take long hot showers, that won't happen. The upper level is tiled. When you get out of the plunge pool and step onto the tiles, they are very slippery - dry your feet first. And finally, wash the rims of the cups and glasses before you use them. The shelves have some rubber matting on them so the glasses won't slip off, but the rubber imparts a taste on the rims. After you wash and use, put them back on the shelf base side up if you are going to use them again. Good communication with owners prior to and during stay.

“Beautiful View”
Reviewed September 12, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Stayed for a week at the end of June had a relaxing week, the view of the town from the top patio is lovely all day long especially in the morning while having breakfast and at night with a glass of wine. Rupert met us on our arrival at the edge of town to show us the way and show us around the villa. A/C in the rooms was great as it gets very warm in the summertime. Good location to explore the area and ideal to be able to walk into town for drinks and meals.
