We rented this house for 7 days in June, 2014. We were 8 persons (6 adults and 2 teenagers). Here is our feedback and review after our stay.
This townhouse is located up in the hills of the suburbs of Torreblanca, with a nice view of the ocean and well away from the noise of Fuengirola. The neighborhood felt safe and was well-lit at night. The house was clean, nicely furnished, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It was enough room for 7 adults (not 8 as advertised). There was parking but we did not use it. The plunge-pool was nice on a hot day. The beds were comfortable.
The house is located a good 20 minute walk downhill to nearest local train station. If you choose not to have a car, which we did the first 6 days, then forget about walking TO the house from the station, since it's up several steep hills and took about 30 mins. You'll need a taxi or a car to get home, if you don't want to be dripping with sweat after the walk up. This was not clear from any of the descriptions of the house on Facebook, Tripadvisor or www.casasoleado.com. Would have been nice to be aware of this small fact...
Upon arrival at the house, there were no “essentials” such toilet paper, coffee filters, salt/pepper, hand soap nor any dishwasher soap. So off to the store to buy all this stuff. A major inconvenience after a long flight to Malaga and taxi to the house!
I suggested to the owners (who live in the UK), that, as a convenience to future guests, they might consider suppling these and a few other basic necessities, to make the stay as trouble-free and convenient as possible. Providing basic necessities like TP, paper towels, coffee filters, hand soap, and a limited set of spices for cooking, would have been very much appreciated and would not cost a lot of money to include. Be prepared to buy upon arrival, or bring with you, all these essentials if you want to use the WC or kitchen for cooking...
Finally, The house is advertised with a Wireless Internet connection, but when we arrived it was not functioning. After several calls and messages to the owners, it was revealed that the house has no internet of it's own, but instead “borrows” the wifi signal from the house next door. This came as quite a shock, as we were traveling with 3 teenagers wanting to post photos on Facebook and Instagram. We also needed internet to check bookings and reservations for rental cars, etc.
No internet with teenagers in the house turned out to be a major headache and inconvenience for us. Lots more complaining to the owners, who responded with “the internet has glitches from time-to-time, ijust wait, t should sort itself out”. Then they said, “go down to a local hotel and sit in their lobby if you want internet.” Totally unacceptable! We complained several times each day, with promises that “it will sort itself out...” It never did...
We finally moved out one day early and checked in to a hotel. I can't say I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting a trouble-free and convenient stay in the outskirts of Fuengirola.
