only booked this hotel days before arriving there and was not disappointed..... the staff are great they are soo happy in their jobs...the area around the hotel is great.. the food amazing with so much on offer i cannot list it but, there is something on each course for everyone.. the gala dinner xmas night was a memory for ever so good was it.. the boxing day manager/staff buffet -what nibbles we had. the new years eve/day lol gala evening again the memories will stay every morsal of food was perfect in every way. these gala evening and buffet also was with white/ red wine , water and champagne... all inc. we were so lucky the weather over the xmas period was perfect for sunbathing and the beach bar was a great place to be in the sun... thank you all for making our holiday so special.. we will go back as there is not one thing negative about this hotel, staff, surroundings that we could comment on..... to us it was perfect. we stayed in room 1120 with views towards the sea and the small harbour which to us was wonderful...if you upgrade as we did u get bathrobes , slippers, flowers, sweets, fruit, water, wine. fridge...def. worth it.

Room Tip: our room was on the 11th floor 1120 with views to die for it was perfect for us.. i do believe half...

This was our 2nd visit to the Yaramar, we stayed for a month 4 years ago, previously the hotel provided excellent food and accommodation, the entertainment was good in the Disco area and the staff where great, Unfortunately on our return the hotel has lost its way. The rooms are the same, although slightly tired. The food was awlful, cold or just warm, boring menu and the special nights were not really special... The entertainment has been moved upstairs which is fine, apart from the fact that it can be heard in every single room in the hotel, so unless you wish for a noisy night you will not get an early night sleep. Staff as always were very good, but a shame and we would not return.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the lifts are best, as they ring all day and night

There's not much wrong with this hotel, and if you do have a niggle the staff will soon sort it out for you. For example, we were surprised to find plastic tumblers in our room instead of the usual glass ones, and no wine glasses. The restaurant staff were happy to supply us with some and told us not to worry about returning them because the room assistant would do this after our stay.

It's true that there aren't many guests under sixty, and most were over seventy, but this statistic could also be applied to people in the streets of Fuengirola, so I imagine most hotels are the same in November. Many of the guests return year after year, some since the hotel opened, and one elderly gent actually lives there!

We weren't too happy at first to pay £14 for a week's use of the fridge, but brightened considerably to find that the wifi is free anywhere in the hotel, including the rooms, which more than compensated. Drinks are cheap, too. In the several happy hours two pints of beer cost just £2.70. You can get a bottle of drinkable wine in the restaurant for under £7 and if you don't get through it they will hold it for you for the following evening.

If we return to Fuengirola we would probably go back to the Yaramar.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool have sun all day.

our 4th visit which we enjoyed although the hotel needs a bit of TLC. Staff excellent Food a bit repetitive particularily sweets at dinner. hotel caters very well for older guests including disabled facilities and being on a long flat promenade is ideal for wheelchair users. Music entertainment in lounge and excellent Thomson entertainment team in aquarium bar evenings, although Aquarium bar is closing 28th Nov for at least 3 weeks and team moving to lounge. Beer 3.10 euros a pint , coke etc. 2.50 (2for 1 in happy hour 8-10pm daily) Trips from hotel expensive (try Travel company/exchange office 50 yards along promenade)Day trip to Gibraltar 16 euros with 5 hrs there. Hotel geared to older (many repeat) customers

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking pool with side seaview get sun in afternoon

We stayed at the Yaramar Hotel from 9th to 15th November. This was our second visit this year. This hotel can not be faulted. The food is excellent with plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is from 7.30am-10.30am and dinner from 5.30pm-9.30pm. We never had to queue to get into the dining room although at popular times there was sometimes a queue. The staff in the dining room were excellent and always pleasant.

The Yaramar is situated overlooking the sea and the views from the bedrooms are spectacular. The bedrooms are clean. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms and tea, coffee and milk are replenished daily. There's also a free safe which is a bonus as you have to pay for a safe in other hotels. The hotel is also very popular and has a large percentage of repeat guests.

A remark by a previous reviewer that disabled people can't access the downstairs entertainment is not true. My husband is in a wheelchair and on the first evening I asked at reception how we could access the downstairs Thomson Gold entertainment. We were immediately shown where the service lift was to access the downstairs entertainment. The service lift was to the right of reception and freely available to use in the evening from all the floors. In fact, the hotel has very good disabled facilities. There are disabled toilets downstairs in the entertainment area, on the ground floor and on the first floor next to the restaurant. There were plenty of people staying at the hotel with mobility problems.

There's a choice of two venues for your evening entertainment. There's the usual Thomson Gold evening entertainment downstairs. The Gold production team led by Dolly are excellent and put on good shows several times a week. There's cabaret on the other nights. Upstairs in the lounge area the entertainment is more laid back with a keyboard player or singers with music to listen to or dance. There's the 'happy hour' from 8-10pm with 2 drinks for the price of 1 which makes the price of the drinks more reasonable.

There are lots of shops and snack bars in the area, Coffee was 1 euro near the hotel.

I can't praise this hotel enough. Ignore the negative comments. You won't be disappointed.

We done the Yaramar. We'll be back again next year.

Stayed at the Yaramar from the 11th Nov for two weeks. The Yaramar Hotel is in an excellent location I have to disagree with the person who said the food is not replaced I have found this to be the opposite in fact the food was replenished when there was still a quarter left. On the subject of food the choice was first class at both breakfast and dinner even the most fussy person would find something nice here. The rooms are lovely and cleaned to a high standard. Went out one day and accidentally put do not disturb on the door hence to room was not made up when we returned, we decided not to bother as it was our fault and got ready for dinner. When we returned later in the evening they had been in and serviced our room replacing coffee etc what an excellent service. The entertainment team are first class with some brilliant and very professional shows Dolly,Jill,Neil and the brilliant voice of Alan are not to be missed. Thank you Yaramar for a lovely Holiday and look forward to returning in the not to distant future.

Room Tip: All rooms have a lovely sea view pool side quieter and sunny.
