Stayed here for one night following a very early (4 am) start to a week in Spain - our daughter had suggested that rather than cope with Granada immediately, we should simply head to Nerja from malaga airport and 'chill out', as she put it, for a day. Great advice! My husband booked this and got an excellent rate on booking.com (I think) and when we arrived, we were delighted to be upgraded to a sea-view room complete with big balcony. Perfetto!

The grounds are beautifully kept, and one can descend to the beach by lift for a pleasant walk along the walkway. In the other direction it's about a 10 minute (for slow walkers like me) to the centre and the Balcon de Europe. There are dozens of restaurants to choose from if you don't want to stay in the hotel all the time.

After a very good night's sleep we had an excellent breakfast on the terrace overlooking th sea. There was an amazing choice of hot and cold dishes - something for everyone and then some! It's mostly buffet style and you can have as much or as little as you want, and you won't be hurried on at all. We were quite reluctant to give up.....

I would definitely go back to this hotel for a relaxing stay.

We stayed here for a week recently. The room was fine and had a balcony complete with a table and comfortable chairs to enjoy the wonderful sea view (and breakfast/drinks) or just to sit and read. The beds were extremely comfortable and the en suite facilities excellent. The breakfast buffet was superb and one of the highlights of our stay. We had read comments about the hot food being luke warm which was true (they should sort this out, given previous comments) but we still thought this was outweighed by the incredible selection of breads, pastries, yogurts, cold meats, cheeses, fruits and even Cava! The coffee was really good and the service excellent. We dined several times in the evening and the regional menu at €33 was very good value. The Restaurant manager (Valentin) couldn't have been more helpful and all his team provided an exceptional level of service. The terrace adjoining the dining room was a delight and the lawns and pools looked very inviting but the weather wasn't very kind to us so we were not able to enjoy them as much as we would have wanted. One query would be why the lovely pool is not open until May? Given the weather is now up to UK summer levels I would have thought it would have been in use by now. Overall a great stay and we hope to return soon.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the sea have the best views - the top floor (3rd) was great.

We took advantage of the young people's discount and the value was tremendous. I do not like to travel to the same places more than once but this would be the exception. It was clean, quiet, and aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast was amazing!

Room Tip: We were in one of the least expensive rooms and it was wonderful with a balcony and view of the ocea...

We've stayed at this Parador a few times in the last 10 years. It's still comfortable (now showing signs of age) but its in an excellent location. It's on a downward slope in terms of quality of service.
We stayed there at the end of February 2012. It was really quiet even though it was the Andelucia holiday weekend. We also stayed again a week later.
Buffet breakfast is as wide a choice as you would wish but we complained the plate/food heating system was not working properly. Food was reheated/replaced after our complaint but a week later when we returned to the hotel the problem with the food server system was still not fixed.
We also dined there one evening. The restaurant has definitely lost the plot! The menu is frozen in time and the chef has forgotten how to prepare the dishes. Our starters - lasagna and asparagas with scrabbled egg were both over-generous and indelicate. The mains -duck confit was cooked until crunchy! and the goat casserole was of school dinner presentation. Given the current quality of fine dining offered, the restaurant was unsurprisingly almost empty. Red wine choice is Spanish Tempranillo or Spanish Tempranillo.
Stay there but haggle for the best price you can get. Eat dinner there and you'll be disappointed.

Had had a drink in the lovely Parador gardens and vowed to return. A special birthday was a good excuse. Found best price from Travel Republic and even got upgraded room with sea and garden view.
Lovely big balcony with comfortable seating.
Staff brilliant, breakfast buffet one of the very best ever.
Didn't want to leave!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the sea in annex were lovely.

We arrived here two days early due to the weather being a little nippy in Granada, but this proved no problem to the staff. There is plenty of free car parking with sun shades.

Our room was spacious and had a sea-view. On looking at the buildings layout most of the rooms would also have this view. The room was clean, with a safe that worked on any card with a magnetic strip so no need to remember a keycode.

The garden and pool area was well maintained and allowed room between sunbeds. The garden area and terrace also look out over the beach with is accessed by a private lift.

Breakfast was a buffet style that proved to have plenty of choice and attention was paid by the staff to ensure that all areas were well stocked.
