Delighted to read other reviews of this lovely pension. We have stayed here twice (the first time in February 2008) - and, yes, we too had Room 103! The owner keeps in touch with his clients by sending good wishes by e-mail at Christmas.

We enjoyed the elegance of the building and the eccentricity of the arrangements (breakfast is prepared very slowly, but it's worth the wait and gives one time to chat to other guests.)

One tip:DO pack plenty of warm clothing if you are here in winter! La Orotava gets very cold.

Small and far away from those big hotel resorts that you find all over the island. The owner Antonio is a very kind person and really try to make your stay nice. Very good breakfast with different kinds of bread and also nice cheeses. Not the square ones that you usually find.
Room nice but a little chilly at this time.
Silene is situated in the heart of Orotava, a nice little town.
This is a little pearl -:)

My boyfriend and I stayed one night in this beautiful well-kept house in the historic centre of Orotava. Three of the four rooms have huge balconies, overlooking the old town. We stayed in room 103, which some people have recommended. The room is lovely, but it might be a little bit too hot in the mezzanine during the night. The breakfast is delicious.

We've spent 5 nights at this little hotel. Rooms have a fabulous view to the valley and ocean.
The house is built like a ryad, with a high patio surrounding the rooms. It's well maintained, canarian decoration and very clean.

Room Tip: Room 103 at the first level, has a mezzanine bed really funny. Sandy y Phil

This Pensione in La Orotava is full of character once inside you are greeted by the owner Antonio, very well presented lots of smiles ( good start ) makes you feel that this will be a nice experience for our evening stay. We was shown to our basic but quirky double room, it was lovely for 40 euros for the night including breakfast it was really good value for two people. the bedding was very good and smelled very fresh, a small but again very clean en- suite with shower only .
Opening of the french doors led you to a beautiful roof top terrace over looking red tiled roofs, clock towers, palm trees and in the distance the blue sea. well worth a bottle of local wine and two glasses until the sun goes down. A heater is also supplied for the chilly night we stayed in February.
Woken up at 8:00 am with the first chime of the day from the clock tower and breakfast is served from 8:00 am to 10:30 am consisting of four different breads, three local cheese colds meats and fresh jams, coffee and tea. Antonio looked after us with many different hats but did it very well.

My self and partner 49 & 56 will be coming back to the town for a few days and will come and stay again but room 103 as this has a mezanine bedroom.
Thank you Antonio for our nice short stay.
