Lovely Sunday night break

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed May 5, 2024
I visited Congham Hall with a friend a few weeks back. We took advantage of the hotels Sunday offer which included accommodation in a Good House Room, scones and tea on arrival, use of the Spa, a glass of fizz each before dinner & a 3 course evening meal. Check in is from 3pm, but I contacted the hotel prior to arrival and they advised that we could use the Spa from midday. The Spa has a good size pool, Steam room, Sauna etc and a very nice outdoor hot tub. We didn't have any treatments, but thoroughly enjoyed the pool and tub.
We were pleasantly surprised that our Good House Room was very spacious and was very nicely decorated. Very comfy beds. Lovely toiletries provided. Fresh Milk and a fridge. Very nice indeed.
Our evening meal was very good. Great choice, particularly for myself. I am a Vegetarian and the hotel has a separate full Vegetarian Menu (with Vegan options too) in addition to the A La Carte.
We had an excellent nights sleep. The hotel was lovely and quiet at night.
All the staff we encountered were so friendly, attentive and efficient. We will definitely return.

Went for afternoon tea. Surroundings very pleasant. The service was very disappointing not asked if we needed anything and had to attract staff attention not once did anyone come to the table to check or engage with us. On leaving reception staff were too busy chatting to each other to say thank you or goodbye. Very disappointing way to celebrate my birthday.

We are sorry if you found your visit underwhelming. As is evident from the vast majority of reviews, the experience you describe is unusual and our team will be disappointed. We always encourage guests to raise any issue before leaving, so we can try to rectify it.

Our first visit to this beautiful property. We came for Sunday lunch & the staff were very polite & attentive.
We only had 2 courses, main & dessert. We all choose the Roast beef, which was served just as we like it nice & pink with lots of vegetables. The only disappointment was the gravy, it had no body to it. It was like coloured water on the plate, which was such a shame. If it had just been thickened slightly it would have made all the difference.
The desserts were very tasty & enjoyed by all.

Room tip: We only came for Sunday lunch

2nd trip to Congham Hall and it never disappoints. The first time we had an Orchard House which was outstanding and being on a smaller budget this time we had a good house double. The room was really big and lovely. Gigantic and very comfortable bed. We had dinner bed and breakfast and everything was outstanding. The staff are delightful and cocktails yummy. We will be back.

Room tip: We were taking a couples night away and it was a relaxing, calm and peaceful break away

Stayed for two nights as a treat for my partner.
All staff are exceptional, very friendly but also very professional.
Room was lovely, they even provided gluten free snacks, very thoughtful and must say never had this at any other hotel.
Food was good, service can't be faulted, gluten free well catered for.
Used Spa, small pool but adequate and my partner was very happy with her treatments.
All in a very nice break, would stay again and would recommend .
