Unfortunately this was not a comfortable stay. Sure, being next to (and part of wetherspoons pub) we knew that it might be a bit rough and loud. Unfortunately our room was at the front of the hotel so we had a very bright light on right outside our window all night and the young drunk people from wetherspoons provided distasteful entertainment by hanging around at the front and waiting for cabs/smoking/vaping/argueing/shouting/crying.
The hotel itself has really friendly, helpful staff but the rooms are not cleaned thoroughly as there was a lot of dust on bedside tables, carpets and shelves, the bed and bathroom were clean but the odd erroneous thick hair was found. Did not want to walk on the carpet barefoot and were disconcerted to see a sticky trap under one of the bedside tables so not sure what pest they are trying to catch!
The sheets were scratchy, the mattress comfortable but a bit too springy. Variety of treats was good though (biscuits, water, drinks).
Very hot room only saved by the Dyson fan which allowed me some sleep.
Also our room had very sloping floors in the bedroom and bathroom which made it quite dangerous to nativigate and companion had a leg injury so was on high alert for falls and found it uncomfortable.
Budget watchers though will love
cheapness and readiness of wetherspoons food and drinks. Clearly everything is already cooked as orders were delivered within minutes, but can't fault the food - cheap and cheerful.
