After staying at this hotel many years ago I was eagerly looking forward to returning. Whilst nothing was terrible, after checking out all I could feel was underwhelmed. This isn’t the same 4 star hotel I had stayed in before. The staff were pleasant enough but the threadbare carpets and tatty furniture need attention. The food was mediocre at best and the price was high for what was received.

We absolutely loved our stay here. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were made to feel welcome and relaxed. Tracy on reception is a credit to the hotel ensuring all our needs were met and very kindly upgraded us to a fabulous suite. The suite had 3 areas - bedroom living area and lovely bathroom- very luxurious. The turret and sea views were outstanding. The drinks in the lounge overlooking the sea were a welcome treat after a windy walk to into centre of North Berwick along the beach. Dinner was great, small portions but the perfect amount when eating 3 courses. The staff were very professional and ensured our wine was well topped up! Slightly cold in the dining room but this was due to huge windows and cold weather they try hard to make sure everyone is warm (closed curtains heaters and blankets!) The spa is beautiful, lots of different saunas and steam rooms. The outdoor hot tub is a must - very relaxing. Our treatments were excellent too. Breakfast was chaotic but plenty choice and lovely food. I would advise going early to avoid the masses and madness! The hotel well also very kind donating a prize for a charity event I am organising. Overall first class experience from start to finish. Thanks again to Tracy. We will be back.

Just returned from a very pleasant overnight stay using a voucher deal with other family members. We were all impressed with the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyable cream tea, dinner and breakfast. Hope to be back soon.

Just returned from a short break with the family and what a great time we all had while being looked after by some fantastic staff and some really tasty food. The hotel is in a spectacular location with some great views from the bars and with a roaring log fire to keep us warm for the cold Easter break. A special thanks to staff in reception, all staff in the restaurant and to the night staff who at 4:30 in the morning offered our very light sleeper a cup of tea and a chat. We will be back.

Just returned from a two day stay. Although we were on a voucher deal we were very impressed with staff. Every staff member was friendly and very efficient especially reception where we were welcomed warmly. Lovely large room very warm and clean and had everything we could need. Pool area was well kept and thermal area was very varied and opened at 6:30am. Dinner which was included on first night was quite an experience! Very pricey for content and service was very slow. Breakfast on the other hand was good with a large choice and lovely efficient staff.

Room Tip: Could be good to pay extra for a sea view.
