A nice collection of yurts and huts, in a quiet pretty location. Dog friendly and very green. A lovely place to stay, with a couple of minor niggles that bring it down from 5*. Watch out for the cobwebs, (I suppose it is rural), and they could do with another tap.

The yurts are set out on a lovely site and you really feel secluded, even though villages and towns are relatively close by. Neil and Lucie are very friendly and have done a great job with the yurts. Check the website to see which one would suit you best, as a couple have a covered area outside - essential when the Cornish weather kicks in! - and another has a dining table, another a futon sofa, etc. This is somewhere in between wild camping and civilisation, so don't expect electricity or running water, but there are beds inside the yurts. The whole site is dog friendly and our Springer loved getting up in the morning and chasing the rabbits down the field!
Overall, we had a very relaxing long weekend here and will definitely be back next year, if not sooner!
For food, the St Mabyn Inn was terrific and it's a great walk there, especially if you have dogs.

Room Tip: The Romantic Yurt is certainly that, with dozens of tea lights for atmosphere!

When my daughter decided to do something different for her 40th birthday, I couldn't have chosen anything better. 11 of us, family and friends, went and only a couple of us had never camped before. We all had a great time. The yurts were cosy when the wood burners were lit. Plenty of room inside and out. Lovely scenery with peace and quiet. Good area to use for base to be able get to beaches and do lovely walks. Would definitely recommend whether you've camped before or not.

Room Tip: Different yurts available, even a romantic one

We stayed in the Pixie Yurt for a couple's night away in early March. It was so cute and very warm once the woodburner is going.
The site is peaceful and pretty. Nice views of fields. You can hear a nearby stream and plenty of birdsong.
It is easy to cook on the Woodburner. There is a coffee table in the Pixie Yurt but no usable table for eating or stools so we are tempted to try the wood cabin next time or one of the bigger yurts.
If the ground is wet do not drive onto the slope, park at the top by the gate. We got stuck but the owners of the site helped us get out quickly. We used nearly 2 bags of fire wood, you can buy these at £3:50 each but presumably you could bring your own wood for free if you are able.
We really enjoyed our stay.

We had a really great week staying in the Acorn Yurt.
The log burning stove is great and very welcoming in the colder months. Falling asleep to candle light, camp fire, relaxing in the slipper bath are just some of the things that make this holiday so unique. The best thing of all was having our dog, Lulu with us enjoying the outdoors and surrounding countryside and then snuggling up in the Yurt, tired at the end of the day.
I cannot recommend this highly enough!
Thank you.
