A lovely beach for families. Great for children. There are sand dunes and a wonderful walk over Brea Hill to Rock. Don't miss St. Enodoc's church nestled in the middle of a golf course! The Poet Laureate, John Betjeman is buried in the churchyard (on the right as you enter the grounds). Be sure to read the interesting history of the church when you go into it - how it was almost buried in the sands and what the clergyman had to do to get in!)

Less surfers, Smaller waves, great facilities. Getting down the small road was a little bit of a hassle but worth it.

We really enjoy this beach. Because it's on an estuary, and because of the way it's shaped, there is a wonderful expanse of shallow water, when the tide is in, which is warmed by the sun, and which doesn't suffer from large waves (or nearly any waves!) or rip tides.

There are rock pools to explore when the tide is out, and the sand is lovely and soft.

For the more adventurous, there are walks to Rock Beach and along the coastal paths. Find/read about the church once hidden in its sand dunes! Very interesting! With incredible, cross-stitched cushions.

Do be aware - many dogs visit this beach. Most are very well behaved, though, and so enjoy the water.

I'd also like to note that the toilets, while costing 20p per time, are far better than most I've seen at beaches (and I have been to many). They really are looked after well, and even if you end up spending a pound or two for the family for the day on 20p visits, honestly, it's worth it.

Last, but FAR from least, we really really enjoy the shop/cafe which is there. And are particularly happy that they have baked potatoes, as we are vegan, and struggle to find food to eat at many beaches. Those potatoes keep us going on long days at the beach.

The car-park folks are always nice, and off-peak we generally find a spot (haven't tried on-peak, as we feel it's already busy enough for us off).

In summary: Lovely beach. And it's great to have one which is so nice for families with small children!
