Thought they would hate it, but heck, we were going and that was it! They loved it. We had three of them with us, 10,8 and 6. They loved the garden of the main house and were enthralled but the ceilings and decor of the property, fascinated by the nursery and the kitchen. I was amazed at how they enjoyed it. But so they should, it is a most stunning place - protected and loved by the many helpful staff there who are doing the job for love I would say. Full of information. The kitchen garden was fascinating, I am sure these kids did not realise that strawberries and raspberries grew and were not served in plastic pots from a supermarket!! We walked to the old stables too and there was the chance to dress up and ride a pretend horse. Enjoyed by the youngest particularly. We only had about three hours there but really loved it and would go back minus kids for a bit of adult culture.

As you approach through the gates this magnificant house stands before you the grounds spread out. Gardens are wonderful to walk through and very well maintained. The house has many rooms open each with an information sheet in telling you about the room. Had a coffee and cake int he tea room which was very pleasant. Will be returning

This is a beautiful tranquil place and very interesting to visit. The house is packed with beautiful furniture and works of art very knowledgeable staff who are happy to answers questions. The grounds and gardens are stunning, kitchen garden just lovely. Play area and stables good for children so something for everyone really.
Would suggest taking a picnic as lovely lawn with tables plus food sold in cafe pretty poor quality and expensive for what it is only let down really.
Had brilliant day there would highly recommend.
