“Very special place”
Reviewed January 19, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

I booked a long weekend here for my partners 40th birthday & a last trip away before our first baby arrives. And as it turned out we had far more to celebrate as my lovely man proposed to me down on the beach while we were there!

The cottage is perfect, the views stunning & I was really sad to leave!

They provide everything you could need- except tongs in the kitchen for cooking! But I can live with that!

It's warm & cosy & we made good use of the log burner. We loved the reclining sofa & the view from the bed was just beautiful.

It is an easy walk down the hill to the seafront where there are places to eat- only 2 were open at this time of year but we sampled both!

We had no issues with the gates as other people have mentioned- we did as instructed & they worked perfectly.

This is a beautiful cottage that now holds a very special place in my heart & we will definitely be back!

“Cup of tea and a sea view”

This was a return visit for us and as always, everything was comfortable and attractively furnished. Great to have both bath and shower. The main attraction however is the morning cup of tea in bed, looking out to sea through the bedroom windows. The Stable Block is in a beautiful location, with facilties nearby and lovely walks. And if you go in October, the tea gardens at Bossington and Selworthy are still open!
We weren't able to get internet access this time, but the owner did her very best to sort it out for us and we have had that faciltiy on previous visits.
Can't wait to go back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Stable Block n Porlock Weir. Its a beautiful location and the cottage has excellent facilities. the view is superb.
The owners next door are extremely helpful and the off road parking a bonus. Its only a couple of minutes walk to several great places to eat.
Will definitely stop here again - there are not many places just for 2 people and who also accept a dog

“Wow - a perfect short break”
Reviewed May 23, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

From start to finish everything was perfect. The correspondence and help during the booking of the property to the stay itself.

The Stable Block is a beautiful, well presented cottage with stunning views. An ideal property for two. Cosy and very comfortable.

On arrival we were greeted with a lovely welcome pack which included tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge. The cottage was very well equipped for a self catering stay. Spotlessly clean with plenty of crockery, cutlery etc.

They had also provided a hairdryer, hair straighteners, hot water bottle, shower gels etc.

We came for a few days away for peace and quiet and certainly found it here. The cottage is a short walk from Porlock Weir. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful. We had mixed weather during our stay but that didn't spoil our enjoyment. Two days of sunshine, one of sunshine and very heavy showers and rain the day we left to come home. Exmoor is very different in the sunshine and rain and we were lucky to experience both.

We would definitely recommend this property to others and hope to return one day soon.

Thank you for a wonderful short break.
