This is an absolutely lovely place to stay. The room we were in overlooked a gorgeous cornfield and you could see for miles on a beautifully sunny day! The bed was comfy, the shower was really quite snazzy but very good. It was a really cosy room. The breakfast was excellent and the service and friendliness of the staff there was great. We would stay there again and highly recommend it.

Back on the South Coast and another more than plesant visit to The Royal Oak. Delightful innovative food, well presented and served with interested and engaging staff. This has continually proved to be a good find and well worth a visit - This return was number 4. Thank you

Fantastic place to stay and dine. Such great staff and high quality service. Room was the best of our whole trip and very quiet. Exceptionally comfortable. Would return again and again for meals, accommodation or simply to sit in the garden for a GT

We stayed in room 1.

The bedroom and bathroom were tastefully decorated, my bed was very comfortable and almost everything was very nice. However, the toilet did not seem to flush properly, the lever was very stiff and had to be pushed several times, which wasn't fantastic.

We booked for a long weekend but left after one night. The room was hot due to the weather, and we could not leave our bedroom windows open as the "residents garden" (a small strip of grass behind two rooms with 2 wooden dining chairs), was at window sill height and other residents were often sitting on the grass directly outside our window giving us zero privacy. We had to keep the windows closed and blind down. The bed was soft and the feather pillows flat and both were extremely uncomfortable - not my preference. The large shower was great. The breakfast was delicious. Dinner, however, was disappointing and had been reheated from lunchtime. Dried out roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were not very appealing. Waitress insisted it was all fresh, I challenged her that no way could a whole roast dinner be served up "fresh" only 10 minutes after ordering. Service was poor, other residents were served with various courses and coffee, but despite several attempts to get attention to order a coffee we were ignored. The excuse we were given was "we thought you would like to be left to enjoy your wine" - not for 40 minutes! Due to the lack of sleep, lack of privacy in the room and lack of attention at dinner, we decided to cut our losses and go home.
