Description: The Rising Sun really is that beautiful British pub that provides fantastic hospitality from the moment you pull into the car park. As you leave your car you will enjoy expansive views across the Avon Plains, a view that can be enjoyed from our conservatory dining room and the large garden with decked area as well. You can even do a spot of work whilst enjoying the views as we have oodles of free Wi-Fi. Step into The Rising Sun and you will be reminded of what makes a pub so great. A number of real ales on tap, including many from Wiltshire’s Moles Brewery, a range of world lagers and a wine list to satisfy every palate and every pocket! This is as beautiful a pub in the summer months as you sit outside and enjoy the view as it is on a cold wintery day when the fire is as welcoming as the staff and rest of the customers are. Join us for a big warming red wine or a pint of well kept real ale on the way home or for a lunch time bite or lazy Sunday roast.

This pub is a little out of the way from Lacock itself but is walking distance if you want to venture up the steep hill. The views from the beer garden are worth the walk. Plenty if parking in the car park if not. I didn't try the food but the service on our drinks was great - real friends genuine staff. I did notice that on some days this place shuts early so may be worth checking before visiting. I'll be returning soon.

Stopped off after a visit to Laycock national trust. Lovely warm welcome, great selection of beers and food. Quintessential a British country pub. Would come again.

We've always liked this pub - it's in a beautiful setting, it has wonderful views but it's always fallen a bit short. However, we haven't been for a while and we'd thought we'd give it a go this evening. At last - somebody seems to have got it right. The menu is very good indeed. Plenty of choice without feeling overwhelmed. A good range of foods and prices. If you want something light then there's burgers, wraps and baked potatoes but all the the pub classics as well. The sharing platters looked amazing! Inside the pub felt a bit cosier and the sofas around the fire will be great in the winter. Plenty of seating outside and blankets available if feeling chilly. We had Calamari and pizza and both were delicious. The barmaid was friendly and welcoming and we'll definitely be back. Well done Rising Sun - you're our new favourite pub!

Not quite a case of just passing but we're in the locality and opted for The Rising Sun from several to choose from. My wife chose the vegan chickpea curry and I the 'breakfast' gourmet burger (inc egg, bacon and mushroomed). The burger was absolutely fine but the chips..wow! Hot, crispy and and great colour; superb. The pub was busy with lunchtime customers but the wait for food to be served was shorter than I expected.

I think I can say that we would gladly eat there again.

Sat outside on a hot July Sunday and admiring the fantastic views. We had a variety of meals and all were lovely and the service was excellent with friendly banter.Recommend
