“Beautiful accommodation in a wonderful location”
Reviewed March 29, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed here for a week in March. The accommodation is really lovely and spacious. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is very well equipped. We happily stayed inside for the days when it was rainy outside and did some baking, played board games and watched dvds while still enjoying the views from the warmth of indoors. It was brilliant watching the sheep from the sitting room windows at all times of the day as they are fascinating, and the amazing skyline is stunning at a different times too. We were also lucky enough to have several dry and bright days. We explored different parts of the Galloway Forest and spotted several Red Kites in the sky and even some deer. The stars at night are extraordinary. This really is a wonderful place to visit to explore the countryside. Very peaceful and relaxing. We had a brilliant break away.

“Christmas stay”
Reviewed January 14, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We stayed at the Mill for 2 weeks over Christmas. It was a lovely setting with great views. The owners decorated the mill outside and in with a real Christmas tree. It was a lovely touch that the owners took our children horse riding on Christmas day, thank you and see you soon

Burnbrae Mill is a delight! the building is beautiful and very tastefully decorated to the highest standard. It is spacious but also very cosy and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, and on our arrival, the fabulous Victoria sponge was a real added treat! The bathroom and wet room are very chic and the views from the living room are to die for .
The property is situated in a lovely tranquil area, in which there are many good walks and places of interest to be visited. We enjoyed our stay in the mill so much that we booked to stay here in December 2015 before we left!!!

“Rural Paradise”

Just returned from our fourth visit to this beautiful and spacious rural mill set back from the road in magnificent countryside with great views from the upstairs lounge. Excellent location, perfect for walking and unwinding. Furnished with obvious care and attention to detail with no expense spared. Spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. On our arrival there was a welcome pack complete with a lovely home baked Victoria sponge which was appreciated. Fully fitted kitchen with all appliances, nice comfortable beds and a modern wet room. Easy access to the A75 leading to Dumfries, Castle Douglas and many other places of interest. On a clear night The Dark Skies gave magnificent views of the stars and in the daytime we watched the antics of numerous birds. The highlight for us was when Suzanne told us of a badger sett in their lower field and Allan took us at dusk to watch them play, two adults and four cubs. Allan and Suzanne were perfect hosts and very helpful. Looking forward to our fifth visit in February.

“Lovely property and owners”
Reviewed September 18, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We booked property based upon the reviews and location ( wanted to mountain bike in several of 7 Staines located near to property). We had a fantastic week - mill was large, very well equipped and extremely clean. Allan came and chatted with us on our arrival, gave us some top tips for cycling and offered for his 3 boys to play football with our two. Soon it was almost a nightly event that their boys would call to ours to ask to play; we would sometimes all go round to their garden in the evening ( midges allowing); they were very welcoming!
We will keep lovely memories of this holiday. It was all I had hoped for and more due to the warm hospitality, perfect accomodation and even good Scottish weather!

“Excellent family break in beautiful accommodation”
Reviewed June 23, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Have just returned from a few days at Burnbrae Mill. This is an excellent property in a beautiful part of the country. It was spotless, comfortable, spacious, and the view fro the upstairs lounge was lovely.
The weather was beautiful which added to the enjoyment of the mill. The kids particularly liked the out door toys which were available and the slide in the garden.
There is a lot to do in the surrounding area. A particular favourite with us was the cocoabean chocolate factory where the kids took a workshop and made some chocolates. Cannot praise this place enough - very good value for money.
Only drawback was the lack of service for,our mobiles - but maybe that was a good thing!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this break and would definitely recommend it.

“A lovely cottage in a stunning location, a memorable holiday”
Reviewed June 20, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

You would be hard put to find anything better than this cottage. It is in a truly rural setting but with every comfort, and very close to many places. The bedrooms are charming with extremely comfortable beds, all mod cons in the two bathrooms and kitchen. Spacious and airy upper floor lounge (wonderful view) and kitchen with quality equipment. It was so peaceful too, an ideal place to relax.
