Forest Way B&B and Bunkhouse

After a terrible trip from Garve on my bike, in atrocious conditions, I suddenly came across Forest Way Bunkhouse. I was beginning to despair and was so relieved when Iain showed me the bunkhouse. There was a place for my bike, a drying room which I really needed, a comfy bed and hot shower. The next day was as bad and I decided to stay put and have a duvet day which was fine by Iain and he even got a radio for me to listen to. I would definately stay there again and I wish there were more places like this in rural Scotland.

Room Tip: Only two rooms each with 4 beds so it doesn't really matter about choice.

Up for a weekend's walking. This is in an excellent location for both the Ullapool area and the local Munros such as Beinn Dearg, An Teallach, and the Fisherfields. Lovely clean room, nice and peaceful with good facilities. Good breakfast and a friendly host who knows the local area well. Would definitely use again! (and the bunkhouse looks very useful too).

Booked on-line way back in January 2014 and had been looking forward to this leg of my 'Tour le Jockland'. Got horribly delayed whilst walking up and down Ben Klibreck earlier and the long, long drive to the Forest Way Bunkhouse. Only arrived after midnight... so feeling somewhat apprehensive, I was most relieved to find a light on and an open door! The rooms are well decorated and lack for nothing, apart from daylight..The bunks were comfortable but could use a little more headroom. Apart from these minor issues, everything you want or could need is on hand and available. The added bonus of fresh 'free range eggs' on your doorstep was taken advantage of and are also a nice tasty treat! So many Munros in close proximity and so little time... I will be back and stay longer to get my legs worn out properly! :-) Thanks for a great stay!!

We stayed in the bunkhouse prior to trying to catch the morning ferry from Ullapool to the Western Isles. Iain made us feel very welcome and we found the bunkhouse to be spacious, clean and well equipped plus we loved the underfloor heating. The only suggestion we would have for improvement is a better wifi signal in the bunkhouse, however it was a pleasant experience sitting in Iain's lovely garden listening to the birdsong and babbling brook whilst getting a wifi signal!

Clean and tidy bunkhouse just 8 miles south of Ullapool which means that the local Munro's are just that, a few minutes drive away. Stayed from 27 to 30 December-weather very wild but managed to get out each day-how good it was to have a warm (underfloor heating) refuge to come back to.
Kitchen well equiped. Could do with more fridge space if full (8 spaces).
Owner onsite next door at B&B-free range eggs excellent.
I would stay there again.

Stayed at this bunkhouse a couple of times and been impressed both times. After a long day on the hills a hot shower and comfy bed are the order of the day and both are available at Forest Way. The owner Iain is friendly and knowledgeable about the area, especially the hills and I'd thoroughly recommend a visit- it's not too far from Ullapool either.
