“One to be avoided!”
Reviewed 26 September 2006

I took my parents to this hotel for a few days break thinking it would be nice and relaxing for them...by day 2 we had renamed the hotel the mingy mor! The whole place was stuck in a '50's time warp as far as the decor was concerned. In the 2 rooms we stayed in and the communal areas, the wallpaper was peeling, the paint was flaking and the rooms were plain dirty. The dust was thick on the protruding pipes and there were cobwebs for company. My parents complained about their room being dirty and were promised it would be cleaned but nothing was done. The food was dire and on a low budget and we only stayed for breakfast! They insist you pay in full for your stay upon arrival. Clearly it's because they got too used to people bolting after one night given how awful it was. There are plenty of nice alternative's we checked out while we were there so we definitely won't be staying there again.

Having stayed at this hotel 18th & 19th feb 2005, we found the staff helpful, the downstairs decor good, special break prices very competative. the only downside was the ensuite in a couple of rooms required updating. well worth a trip or to use as a base for touring other areas.
