“Nice Night After All......”
Reviewed 26 February 2009

My boyfriend and i wanted to celebrate our 1 year annivesary out on the town, we had all intentions of having a great night, but of course it didn't turn out that way! Without going into detail our night out was terrible, so we just wanted to get some SLEEP!!!! I booked a single non-smoking room earlier that week on expedia, got a great rate! When we arrived the front desk clerk greeted us with such kindness, and checked us in swiftly (5 min. tops). The lobby was very clean and tidy. I noticed that there was a computer area for guests (we did not use it, but it was nice to know that it was available). Our room was very cozy and the bed was so comfortable. I placed a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door and slept through the night without a peep. The next morning we woke up and went down to the lobby for breakfast. The breakfast area was roomy and had plenty of room for me and my beau to eat in peace. There were several items available for us to choose from, such as muffins, bagels, doughnuts, milk and cereal, etc...... I liked that we had options. Overall our stay was very pleasant. The staff and maid service were very helpful. The area around the hotel was well-kept and maintained. I would recommend this hotel for anyone on a business or leisure trip.

My family stayed at the EconoLodge (formerly known as Best Value Inn and Suites) at 1800 John Harden Drive in Jacksonville, AR. We will NEVER stay here again.

Our room was extremely unclean and in desperate need of repair. The toilet constantly overflowed and we were provided with a plunger so that we could address this issue each time we used the bathroom. Tile, shower surround and counter top were all broken, chipped and/or falling apart. Paint was peeling off the walls. And, the carpet was so dirty that the soles of our feet were black when we walked across the floor in our bare feet.

In addition, the grounds were unkept. Dog feces littered all green areas. The pool was heavily chlorinated, but still smelled of mold. Root tiles were missing above the indoor pool, some had been replaced with cheap garden trellis adding to the feeling of disrepair. A yellow stripe was painted around the perimeter of the pool and dripped over the edge creating an unsightly appearance.

As far as the staff is concerned... The maintenance man was extremely helpful and responsive. But from our perspective, he seemed to be overwhelmed by the amount of disrepair and general neglect. The hotel literally looks as if it is falling apart. Other staff members (e.g. front desk) were unresponsive/apathetic. They were not helpful and took a very long time to respond to simple requests. We did not have maid service (except for fresh towels), so I cannot comment on this directly.

Room - Room was clean. Remodeled bathroom has surface over tile. SInk was very slow to drain. I asked for a fix but it never happened. Air conditioner worked well. We stayed 3 nights. Other occupants were very loud all night. Breakfast consisted of muffins, doughnuts, instant oatmeal, coffee and some pastries. Only half the toaster worked. There is a computer in the front lobby that had open internet access. The indoor pool area was disgusting. It needs a major renovation.
Hot tub was covered in plywood. Bathroom in pool area was
not working. Wireless internet was not working in my building. Front desk said to use ethernet cable. It worked the first couple of nights but was down on Sunday morning when we left. WIth some care this could be a nice place but as is - well you probably want to stay some other place.

We stayed at this property for two nights when we were in Jacksonville for the airshow at the Little Rock AFB. We arrived on Friday night, about 9:30 PM, and our reservation was honored. We had requested a king, non-smoking and that is exactly what we got. We even got a ground floor room. The room was about what we had expected, clean but dated. It had a mini-fridge and microwave. There was a coffee pot and my husband made coffee Saturday morning. When we got back to the room Saturday night, the bed had been made, clean towels, soap and shampoo replaced but the coffee pot was left dirty. Not sure if this was an oversite or common practice. They are not overly generous with the towels. We never had more than two bath towles, one hand towel, two wash cloths and a bath mat. This was adequate but it would have been nice to have an extra towel for my hair.

I think this property needs a little help with their maintenance issues. The bathroom door did not shut properly and a tile next to the bathtub faucet was broken and hanging. Not major issues but things that definitely needed immediate attention.

They offered continental breakfast but we did not particiate so I cannot comment on that. The front desk workers at check-in and check-out were extremly nice and courteous. We got this room from the hotel's website on a promotional rate of $39.95 (what a bargain). For the money we paid, we were satisfied.

  • Liked — The location - Near Little Rock Air Force Base
  • Disliked — I would have liked more towels and a bathroom door that shut properly.
  • Tips/Secrets — Check hotel's website for pormotinal rates.

we originally booked for a family of 4, when my husband got there, since me and my 2 children werent there with him, they put us in a smaller room. The maid took things out of our refrigerator when cleaning our room. the pool was in rough shape, but they did clean it once a week. there is a small laundry room with 1 washer and 1 dryer. I personally was not impressed with the place, we stayed for 3 weeks while we were moving, and they called us one night at 11PM to tell us our payment was due and they wanted it now.. i will not stay again..
