The hotel is just outside the village/town, surrounded by mountain and marsh. It's beautiful.

Dinner and breakfast are really good.

Rooms are on the small side. The floor is a little bit slippery. It's certain adequate.

The only complaint is WiFi does not work.

After an amazing day of exploring the area around the Salar de Uyuni we enjoyed a hardy dinner and meeting the other hotel guests. The after dinner entertainment was provided by the cute village kids--tip them they need it. The hotel rooms were comfortable but I really expected more given the price of the tour. The rock formations that are integrated with the architecture are interesting; but, had just been freshly coated with polyurethane--the off gassing was unbearable. Breakfast was good. We had a difficult time enjoying ourselves because in the part of Bolivia it is freezing at night in July and the heating systems in the building were somewhat rudimentary.

Room tip: I would opt to stay in any of the other hotels owned by Hidalgo. Their Salt Palace is wonderful!

If you are exploring south of Uyuni you can only do it if you have a hotel stop if you plan to go through the national park.

This hotel is located in an indigenous community so it provides an excellent opportunity to see how thd locals live. I went for a walk through town which has less than 1000 people and saw the housing and infrastructure as well as seeing women washing in the stream that flows through town.
The hotel is basic but comfortable. Don't expect three stars even but for its location it is perfect:
Comfortable bed
Warm
Hot water
Dinner and breakfast
Spacious public area
Intermittent wifi
Unique design into a rock

This hotel is beautiful, very very cozy, warm, hot water 24 hours, electric blankets, good food, breakfast buffet, fireplace area with complementary coffee & tea. There was only one other room occupied while we were there. One of the guests in it had celiac disease, and the restaurant was very sensitive to it (he had told them when making the reservations). Absolutely recommend it!

Room tip: I would imagine that any room would be great! (we had a corner room)

We spent an unexpected night at this hotel due to our flight being canceled and it was charming. A real oasis. The decor of the rooms was lovely and the heaters worked very well. The beds were comfortable and especially inviting with the warming blankets on them. The showers were really hot and the food great. My husband and I spent hours trying to sort out a new flight at the hotel public computer terminals and the staff were super helpful as we navigated Spanish websites. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
