We had stayed at this hotel years before and still like the location. Rooms do show the effect of age, and need lots of upgrades. Truly enjoyed the dinner/breakfast option, included in the rate, freshly made and of excellent quality. Wi-Fi was sporadic, they claim to have issues after updating the systems. Liked the secured off-the-street parking option. Overall, this hotel is really secured and priced just right for the area.

The hotel is old and not very clean. There were also some ants inside our room.
Pool is small and not clean. Location isn´t fantastic, next to a main road and with no nice beaches near by. Try to avoid the restaurant next to it (not the one inside the hotel, the one on the right) is expensive for what you get, tourist trap.
We had dinner and breakfast included and was very good.
This hotel is ok if you need to spend a night but don´t think is a typical resort.
for what it is, it is very good! is it a resort? No! it is just a place to sleep. there are mosquitoes and like other reviews, air conditioners could be loud and street traffic can be annoying. But is is good enough to spend the night. Breakfast and dinner is included. staff is friendly. Thank you to Jovel, at the restaurant.
The hotel is well located.
This hotel needs urgent renovation from the reception to the rooms.
The restaurant staff is too slow and much time is wasted since you made the order until they bring the food.
During the night the noise of air conditioning compressors and vehicles passing through the avenue not let you sleep.
Television in the rooms do not work.
For the specs that has the hotel it's perfect the price are low and the room are ok it's like u go a house of a friend the a/c never work but they has a fan too hot water and it's only one guy in the kitchen but he was so good and educated has good service. The hotel it's not that big and I recommend that they need to took off this "pool" that they have. It's like ... no! Well the thing Is if u are looking for some place good and low price this one its perfect
The Barahona part of the D.R. has not been spoiled by tourism (yet). This area contains dramatic ecological differences from arid desert areas full of cacti to lush jungle areas. Hotel Caribe is situated right on the Malacon of the town of Baharona. None of the hotel staff spoke English, in fact we appeared to be the only gringos in the entire town. However with our "Spanglish" we managed to get across the need for a tour guide. The next morning "Julio" showed up at breakfast. He speaks Spanish, and partial English, French & German. We would certainly recommend him as a tour guide and bird-watch guide; just ask at the desk for Julio. Amazing knowledge of the area,history, fauna and flora.
