Description: A unique dining experience in the village of Ashcott in Somerset (nr Street). Set on the main road of the A39 with ample parking lies The Ashcott. Food is served in the comfortable surroundings of the restaurant or in the lush gardens surrounding (weather prevailing!) We pride ourselves on using fresh and local produce where possible with daily lunch and evening specials being produced to accompany our delicious core menu.

We have driven past this place a lot since we moved from london to Somerset. We always thought we should try it out, drawn in by the great look of the place from the outside.
So glad this time we stopped, what a treat. They have a great healthy kids menu which the kids enjoyed and we had Sunday roast. The plates came and they were good portion sizes, ( I only took a pic of the main plate but it came with a whole other dish of veg) the meat was perfectly cooked.
I would recommend this pub for Sunday lunch, we'll be back to try out the menu again on other days as well. They also have a garden which we'd like to release the kids into in the summer.

Good reviews drew us here, that and the need for somewhere to eat after watching the Starling Murmurations over the marshes! No problem fitting us in, but booking head would be advised.

Decor - nice pub, modernised dining room.
Drinks - nice selection, pub fare, choice of ciders.
Staff - welcoming, helpful, friendly.
Food - nice selection, most dishes were superb; except for one of our meals - the Roast Pork tasted 'old'.

The service here is always as commendable as the food, even during peak periods, but a special mention must go to Phil (I think!) who served us last night. So welcoming and professional. Top marks, guys.

Six of us met for lunch. We had not been for some time and were really pleased to see the lovely new decor and furniture. The only criticism was that the dining area was a bit cold, but when we mentioned it to the staff they told us that they were having trouble with the heating. We had coffee by the wood burner and soon warmed up!! The food was very good and we all went for the two course lunch special. Not a lot of choice, but we all found something we liked and it was very good.
