Beef is not always available at restos in Japan. Those that do serve beef declare it on the exterior of the resto and usually in English. We were ready for a beef sukiyaki experience. There is no better way to celebrate the delicacy of premium (heavily marbled) beef than to have a lunch set here at 8100Y for two.
We fortunately had reservations which are a must. There is a formality to this resto as we were lead to a private tatami room -- with a leg well TG.
The food was up to expectations with plenty of thinly sliced beef and lots of onions and bamboo. We drank matcha while other drinks were optional.
We HAD to come all the way to Asahikawa to enjoy authentic sukiyaki in the best way possible. Come here before this experience will not be available.
