Huge image. Much of it broken and subsequently restored but gives you an idea of the scale of grandeur of the Vijayanagar kingdom

The statue of Ugra Narsimha is the largest monolithic statue and is well carved. Despite the damage to it over a period of time, it is still awesome and awe inspiring.

well preserved, but the spring underneath has dried out. design and architecture are similar to what we see in similar tanks in Gujarat and rajasthan. means there was plenty of skills trafficed between these areas.

This statue is situated approximately 2 km away from the main temple complex and can be visited via bi cycle, car or three wheeler . I decided to explore it by walking across Hampi. The statue is big and depicts the Narshima avtar of Lord Vishnu which form s part of Hindu religious stories. It depicts Lord Vishnu in the form of half lion and half human being. The statue has been nicely preserved

Here you can find the biggest idol of lord Narasimha in sitting pose with lord adhesesha above the head. This is located near the entrance to Hampi and next to lord Shiva's linga statue.
