“Nice place to stay in Bhopal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2012

Palace Hotel ! Best in it's class in Bhopal, though bit expensive. Only 15-20 minutes drive from airport. Rooms are spacious. Food is excellent. You get an excellent lake view. Beds and Bathrooms are kingsize !

Room Tip: Corner rooms are better

This has to be one of the best hotels in Bhopal.I have stayed only once but did not expect such a lovely hotel. The rooms are increadibly spacious. The one which i had chosen had a private balconcy facing the lake and provides an incredible view of the city. The hotel is situated at a height and thus provides a very good view. The breakfast variety needs to improve though and options seem limited compared to the other hotels i have stayed across India, The food is delicious though and very tasty. I had some issue with the staff, however it was sorted out after an apology was made in person by them. The other issue faced was of the check in timing that needs to improve. One needs to wait in the morning for quite some time before the room is allocated. But this does not take away from the overall experience.

Room Tip: Rooms with a balcony facing the lake

Rooms are clean and spacious. we had one with the view of the lake.
Food is amazing.especially the breakfast.the khasta kachoris and samosas are amazing.
Ambience is also very good. true royal treatment for the guests.
a fine massage centre and a well equiped gym are worth trying.
If you are in bhopal, you have to be in Noor us Sabah.

Everything about this hotel speaks class. The rooms are overlooking the lake.. and are very spacious, clean and comfortable. They have a little private balcony.. with two old fashioned chairs and a table.. perfect place to enjoy your hot cup of tea.
The restaurants are amazing and food is delicious. Breakfast buffet, pool side and fitness center are great. Staff is friendly and helpful.

(This review is more about Za-aiqa than about the hotel itself)
We ate the lunch buffet in Dec, and it was perhaps the best traditional north indian fare we've ever eaten in US or in India. The dishes were not just tasty, they were made with choice meat cuts, too. For example, normally you don't find lamb chops at lunch buffets. They also had a few 'western' desserts, but the main fare was typically of the north, afganistan/peshawari style of cooking.

After the food, we roamed around the hotel areas and they are beautiful. Marble floors and beautiful furniture can be found every where. The views are breathtaking and show most of the city and lake.

Several years ago, when I visited, I had hosted a party here and everybody loved the food and the setting then, but they seemed to have improved it further!

From outside, hotel looks bigger then Jehannuma hotel . I had higher expectations from the hotel as this was actually built as a palace whereas jehannuma was a stable <kind of> .
The service is good. Room interior are also good .View from my room was magnificent .
Food so and so , actually ambiance wasn't good. It looks haunted , very dark .
Not many BHopal junta visits this hotel compared to jehannuma. Food options are limited .
I checked out after first week and shifted to Jehannuma.

Room Tip: If traveling alone ask for the standard room 11, it has got a double bed and room is more spacious .

The view from my room of the lake was breathtaking, although the room by itself was pretty ordinary. The balcony facing the lake had a metallic chair and table that wasnt dusted and so couldn't be used. The AC vent had a weird smell and since the weather in Bhopal was pleasant, i decided to not use the AC at all.The mattresses were very hard. The food is good nothing extraordinary here as well. The room service was pretty decent, but the reception desk was disappointing. Inspite of telling that i have to extend my stay, my reservation was not extended at first and they needed multiple reminders. Strange that a guest has to ask repeatedly for extensions whereas the hotel should be welcoming more business.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the lake.
