I really am not sure if I can add anything more about Ca's Curial that hasn't already been said but I'll give it a try.

This was the first time we'd stayed in a finca and have usually stayed in hotels which up to now have been faultless and we've enjoyed and thought that that type of holiday was the only one to have abroad. This stay at Ca's Curial has changed our minds about what we really want from a holiday abroad.

Please don't think of staying here if you're expecting an impersonal busy hotel where the huge numbers of staff are tripping over themselves to pander to your every need. Ca's Curial is very much a small tranquil family run finca where the main members of staff are Andres senior and junior, ably assisted in the mornings by housekeepers, and Andres senior's wife who provides the excellent evening meals. So therefore if you want one of their magnificant jugs of freshly squeezed orange juice during the day, you may have to search for either Andres as they are busy around the finca and not just sitting at reception ......that's the beauty of staying in such a wonderful friendly place and so different from a typical tourist hotel. We actually felt like visitors to their home instead of another tourist filling another hotel room for a holiday.

Soller town is what imagine a typical Mallorcian town to be like, catering primarily for the locals so no souvenir shops or English bars. We were fortunate (!!!) to be in Soller during their Es Firo festival last week, what an experience, but luckily took Andres' advice and ate in the finca on monday evening! The port is more touristy as you would imagine but still very pleasant and definately worth a visit or two.

What I liked was the fact we were able to come up from the airport by bus at incredibly cheap prices and we walked and walked in the hills and mountains for the 9 days we were there. For us the was no need for a car and if we needed to venture a bit further then there was the tram to the port and a good bus service to Deia and beyond.

I think therefore that in future we will probably be avoiding the larger hotels, instead opting for a more personal stay in a finca or similar and we'd love to return to Ca's Curial.

Room Tip: We stayed in suite number 7, top floor with two flights of stairs which may be difficult for those w...

We have just returned from the most wonderful 7 night stay at this fantastic property. Andreu Jr and Sr are exceptional hosts, who can't do enough for you and can advise on places to visit, where to eat as well as giving info on the many walking routes in the area. The building is surrounded by orange groves, and the grounds have a lovely peaceful and relaxed atmosphere as well as a lovely pool. The little extras add so much to the experience - the bottle of bubbly waiting for us in our room, the pool towels that were provided and the fresh orange juice brought out to us whilst sitting by the pool. Like many before us, we highly recommend this hotel!

This is the perfect base for a short break in Northern Mallorca. Eight bedrooms-we had one of the garden rooms with a sun terrace, junior suite (flatscreen tv) and excellent shower/bathroom. 5-10 minutes walk to Soller (bars, restaurants, shopping etc)- although Puerto de Soller ( 5 euros by taxi or tram) has the better options- but secluded so that nights are peaceful and quiet (no traffic noise or yellow street lighting). Self service breakfast is more than adequate, home made orange juice, plenty of fruit plus hot options. But the overwhelming reason to stay here is Andres Rullan and his family, who own the hotel.Very friendly with lots of helpful information about walks, where to eat, and booking trips to other parts of the island. The care and attention they put into Ca's Curial is obvious everywhere. We have no hesitation in recommending this excellent hotel

Room Tip: Try Room 9 with a ground floor terrace set in the orange groves

Excellent accomodation and attentive staff. We had one of the 'standard' double rooms, but still spacious with views over the grounds and mountains. Andres is an excellent host. Ca's Curial is ideally located in the orange trees; peaceful, with stunning views of the Sierra Tramuntana; yet only a short walk into the centre of Soller. Bottle of Cava to welcome us was a nice touch. We will certainly stay again.

Stayed 27 March to 2 April 2012.
This is a wonderful place, about 10-12 minutes’ walk from the centre of Sóller.
The hotel is set in a very attractive citrus orchard and the walk to the edge of the property on the way to town goes through a lovely orange and lavender grove.

The buffet breakfasts were good (the orange juice, to die for!). We had two evening meals at the house (€ 28 pp) for three courses and coffee - good value, excellently cooked and well presented.

What makes a hotel stand out from the crowd, though, is the staff and in this, Ca’s Curial is truly exceptional. You cannot help but be aware that it is a family business and that, in effect, you are treated almost as a guest in their house. I think that I overheard a claim that the land had been in the family since the 1200s but I could have been mistaken on this!! Front of house alternates between Andreu (father) and, somewhat confusingly, Andreu (son). Not so much hoteliers as hosts. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. A nice touch was to be brought freshly squeezed orange juice whilst sunbathing by the pool. The pool itself is a decent size, but the water in March was rather too cold to make use of it. It shouldn’t get overcrowded even in high summer. We were given good advice on some of the great walks in the area and useful tips on where to eat out.

There is plenty to do in the area - a week wasn’t really long enough. We hope to go to Sóller again and, if we do, will stay at Ca’s Curial.

Room Tip: All the rooms are different – ours was the Suite on the ground floor with a separate entrance (but o...

Excellent accommodation and excellent care from Andreas junior and senior. We stayed in a junior suite with a terrace where we were able sit and enjoy the sunshine. Perhaps because we were staying over Easter, we had a welcoming display of decorated eggs in our room, together with chocolate rabbits and a bottle of champagne. Magnificent meals on the evenings we ate in the hotel, and a good range of restaurants in Soller for the other evenings. Although the weather was not hot enough for a swim, the pool looked inviting and the gardens were impressive. Only a few minutes walk into the centre of Soller.
