We headed for the much publicised Tapas bar near the man in square but it was very busy and 40min wait,so we walked on.... not much from the doorway but menu looked fine.... we just beer and few tapas. Upstairs staff were very welcoming and we had a table at the window overlooking the sea. Food was fresh and tasty at reasonable price with good service at a sensible price. It’s not posh but on a sunny day.... tough to beat.

By comparison with some other restaurants in Garachico, the Terraza might seem a little prosaic. But for a perfectly pleasant supper where we had a mixed grilled fish platter that was more than ample enough for two and a carafe of local wine for 37 euros, disappointment would have been undeserved. On the seafront, with a view over the small castle on what used to be the harbour and now where the rock bathing pools welcome those brave enough to risk the rather forceful waves, it provides a very pleasant spot!

Remarkably, given our relatively conservative expectations of restaurants in Garachico, eating out every day of a nine day stay, we didn’t have a bad meal, in fact all the meals we had were of a very high quality. So you’re somewhat spoiled for choice.

We stopped here for lunch. My husband had the white fish fillet off the menu, which he thinks was cod and which he said was clearly very fresh. I had the fresh caught Sama, simply grilled, and it was delicious. We both had Canarian potatoes and a bit of salad with the fish, plus some mojo.

Not really special but good simple food.

It's a nice location for lunch on a sunny day with a view but not so special in the evening. Food was just okay. Staff were nice but would we go back? Absolutely not.

Wonderfully surprised by the lunch 'menu' which included soup, entree, wine, bread, water, coffee or desert all for 12 euros. Seafood soup was excellent and pork chop and fish were very tasty. View from the balcony overlooking the sea was perfect. Service was excellent and friendly.
