Lovely old building, we had a room overlooking the square housing a restaurant of the same name of hotel but apparently not connected to the hotel. It was noisy and we expected that but loved the hotel and resort. If you visit be sure to take the 30 minute trip by boat to the Islas de Cíes , simply stunning!

My wife and I spent one night here in early June as part of the Portuguese Costal Camino and really liked the hotel. The entrance way “reception” is a bit crowded, but the grand staircase and the clean rooms with a view of the Marina boardwalk made up for a few minutes of inconvenience. Even though we ended up in two single beds, the room was very clean and not as small as one would have excepted from an 1800’s renovated building. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The hotel is centrally located on the main street across from the Marina and a short distance from several beaches, laundry, and the walkway around Montereal Castle, with its seascape and viewpoints. The one issue was the restaurant situation. Our first night we had a late dinner at the Hotel’s restaurant, which served up fairly bland pasta and beef main courses, as well as the only bad wine we had in all of Spain, and the service was perfunctory. It might have been that it was late evening, but we never had that problem anywhere else. Breakfast was at an offsite diner that was reasonable, at best. We would stay at the hotel again, but eat somewhere else.

The trick is to get a quite and pretty room. Most rooms (apart from nos 101, 201, 205) have windows going out onto the seafront/main road or side little plaza with 2 restaurants - therefore they are all extremely noisy till late at night and early in the morning when they start dragging metal tables and chairs across the pavement. We got a noisy (and ugly) room for the first night, so asked if a quieter one was available for the second night and were moved to no. 101 (one of 3 going out onto an internal courtyard) which made an huge difference. The room was also much bigger and have a lovely decor.
We had lunch in the restaurant downstairs in the same building (which i don't think belongs to the hotel), and the food was delicious.
The Hotel's location is very convenient, right in the middle of the main road, near a bus stop to/from Vigo and the Marina station where you can catch a boat to Cies island from.

Room Tip: For me rooms without a view, going out onto an small internal courtyard, were the best in terms of noise (101, 201, 205).

We arrived on a Friday evening, to a very cold reception from the guy at the front desk. The entrance and the staircase give you an impression of gradieur, but it was let down once we entered our room.
We stayed in room 203 in the top floor. The ceiling was very slanted so you could only stand upright next to the bed, the rest of the room and bathroom you had to bend down to avoid banging your head.
We had free wifi, after asking for the password at reception. Also a mini bottle of cava wa waiting in the room when we arrived, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was simple but tasty ( coffe, juice and chunky toast ). The best part was we has breakfast in the terrace as the sun was out in all it's glory, so was a very pleasant start to the day. I think the price is normally around € 90 for a double, but we got an offer on Groupon for € 39, so at that price was good value for money. It is right in the centre of the old town, near the small pebbled streets where all the bars and restaurant are. Very handy for going out to dinner.
If you get a good offer it is worth going, but for full price appearances are deceiving.

Set right on the main street but with good double glazing and insulated windows perfect for keeping out street noise. Large rooms on the first floor No's 102 & 103. Bars and restaurants and all the night life are steps away. Views from the front rooms are perfect. staff are nice and friendly.
Baiona is beautiful. Great beaches and walks abound.

Room Tip: 102 103 front facing
