Wandered into this place late last night after watching a musical at the Berkeley Rep.

Great ambiance for small groups. Low lights, candles on each table. The food was excellent - we tried the chicken & prawn tacos and the flatbread (vegetarian option), which was like a naan masala sauce pizza!

Excellent service as well!

What an amazing find! The Indian food here is simply amazing! Definitely did not expect it. Chicken Tikka Masala is a must!

We had dinner here before the theater a few blocks away ( the play was Roe- and it was fantastically well acted and extremely thought provoking- beautiful little theater too). The cocktails were large and imaginative and I thought the curries were very good ( although not outstanding) and there was plentiful, and very good, Naan. I also like the Papadum ( not sure of the spelling). If you want to drink and eat you have to go upstairs which is either cozy or too dark- depending on how you like an absent of natural light.. I think its best suited to cocktails- but it is so conveniently located next to the University and near the theater that its worth having dinner there - its good enough- just not a stand out. I should add though that the service was very good and very friendly. Like that a lot.

The tandoori chicken kebab is wonderful and large- you can sub the naan for rice. The naan is fresh and delicious. Naan "pizza" is good for sharing but excessive for one. The chicken tikka masala is very good, and is a smaller portion compared to other dishes. No drinks allowed outside. Beers are served in small cups. Happy hour ends at 6 and doesn't offer much. I love sitting on the bar for drinks and a bite. Most of the mixologists are skilled and easily work off the drink menu. Alcohol selection is large, but not all inclusive missing on the single malt and gin options and lacking lillet and other basics. Nonetheless, best drinks in town, and best bar and food combo. Upstairs seating is dim and romantic, downstairs is more crowded and hip.

This place is mostly for drinks, but it definitely has enough for a light dinner.
The Indian food was surprisingly good, and the cocktails where great.
Even better, the prices are very reasonable.
What can we ask more?!
