may be its 4pm or may be its just a bad day, but if you really know authentic indian taste, this would be a horrible place. I can't give anything less than 1*. I generally don't give my ratings by ordering only one or two items because I know I have to give them a benefit of bad day... We ordered 5 fast moving items and all of them are disappointing.
* Poori are made ok but the curry is just mashed potatoes.
* Chilly dosa was a disaster where the same potato mash is mixed with a lot of red chili powder and half-boiled lettuce and then the watery paste is applied on top of dosa, soaking it badly (a dosa should be soft to crispy, btw).
* thali meals has lot of curry varieties but none of them had 'swad' (that yummy feeling when you eat something right from the tasting to the point of finishing the entire dish). Beans were not boiled properly, rice is dry and hard (they initially gave one small cup, but later we asked another but was NOT charged for that, good, thats why 1 star)
* masala dosa was ok in all but the chutneys are so no., please. I didn't touch the sambar after one sip.
* And then the last blow was a madras coffee.. This was the first time in my whole life that I didn't finish the coffee and left it half way. ( I am a self-proclaimed coffee pro btw)
I still don't feel bad and respect the other reviewers. May be its a bad day, may be their master chef is on leave today, or may be its already 3.30 pm and they are winding up with left overs.. Until next time, but there is no next time at least for me.
service was good though, the non-desi staff pronounced the names properly, prompt in serving and were friendly.
