We just happened to be walking by and decided to have some Mexican food, we are glad we did. I had the Enchilada's and my lady had a Taco Salad. Both were very fresh and the atmosphere was good. The service was a bit slow, but we took that into consideration as they were very busy. Good food and great people.

We came here for lunch and sat in the patio with our two dogs. The ambience was nice and the service was good. We ordered the taco salad and burrito. The food was tasty but it doesn't compare to the Mexican cuisine in Santa Barbara!
HERE IS A TIP: Ask for the lunch menu; otherwise, they will give you their regular menu during lunch time.

Stopped here to eat b/c I was informed El Jacalito Grill was owned by the same family who own la Hacienda...which is one of my favorite places in Big Bear. As I hoped, El Jacalito did not disappoint. It was very good and the atmosphere was nice as well. Located in the village so a little closer to the social activities compared to La Hacienda.

We were a party of 5 on a bike tour. Peppercorn Grille was our first choice, but had to wait too long. So we tried El Jacalito and were very satisfied. Great enchiladas, tasty, seared to perfection. The Bistek Picado was a treat. Big portions and sure enough for the price. Nice ambiente too, and efficient staff. Would have loved to see one or two more smiles on their faces, but the location was packed (we've been there on a saturday night). Absolutely recommendable.

We sat out on the patio, great place in the summertime. The food is good. We had carnitas salad, many different tacos all were delicious. The service was excellent.
