I chose Elms Motel because it looked like it might be quieter and more personal than the multi-room building style hotels in the area. The manager doesn't smile or greet you in any way. It seems that each guest is more of a bother than a welcome guest, which made me feel uncomfortable. Amenities are just enough to sleep. No extra comforts. The shower head in my room was broken so there was no showering for me for 4 days of hiking. The one common wall to the two connecting rooms is paper thin. You can hear the guests in the next room whispering to each other. When the noise is above a whisper it makes the room less enjoyable. I would be completely happy with this motel at one-half the price, but for what I paid, for the location, I expect much more.
