Review of Rebel BBQ

Rebel BBQ
Ranked #2 of 41 Restaurants in Blythe

Cuisines: Barbecue
Description: Stuck in the midst of the food chain outlets: McDonalds, Pizza Hut, etc. The Rebel BBQ sign was a beacon calling to us, "Stop, stop. I'm different, I'm good!" We did. It was. We'll be stopping again on our next road trip to Ca.

Rebel BBQ was walking distance from our hotel and it had good reviews so we decided to get some takeaway. Had planned to eat in but it was very busy and noisy; everyone was inside due to the summer heat. There are not a lot of tables inside. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the pork was delicious. The sauce came on the side and the sandwiches were wrapped in foil. We also got the mac and cheese side. The pork was good but this is not smoked BBQ and without the sauce the pork does not have a BBQ taste This is not a criticism; the pork was very tender, but some may expect a smoke flavor. Sauce was good. Mac and cheese seemed to have a secret ingredient (jalapeno flavor?) and I could not eat mine but my husband (who hate jalapenos) said he was perfect and gobbled it right down. If you do get sandwiches to go you may want to request a wrapping other than foil. The pork was so hot and so moist that the bread became very soggy and wet by the time we walked one block to the hotel, I was fine just to eat the pork and sauce.. We would eat here again. Price was very reasonable and food was good quality.

We ate at Rebel years ago while traveling from Arizona to California and put it on our list of places to eat at on our recent trip through Blythe.

The ribs were moist and flavorful as was the chicken. The BBQ sauce had just the right amount of tanginess to compliment the meats. The service was excellent and there was lots of parking.

We even bought a second meal to take home for dinner that night. Just wish we lived closer so we could enjoy the food more often!

You won't be sorry that you ate there!

We regularly stay at the Best Western Sahara in Blythe. One evening we asked the desk clerk about non institutional places to eat. She suggested a bbq place around the corner. She did not recall the name, but she told us how to find it, which we did. That place serves absolutely fine bbq. We have returned several times and find the quality to be stable and excellent. The menu is full of fun, and the service is also very good. If you are in to barbecue, that is the place to go in Blythe.

On a recent road trip to Phoenix, we stopped at this gem of a restaurant in Blythe. Location is great for an easy and quick pit stop! The cuban, brisket, and reuben sandwiches were oh so delicious. Very filling and a great value considering the limited choices for food in the area! It was so good that we made it a point to stop by on our way home!

Needing to get off the interstate so we could eat, we weren't sure where to go. Blythe, CA isn't exactly the Mecca of Restaurants. We saw Rebel BBQ and decided to pull in there. There were many BBQ meal choices but I chose the pulled pork sandwich, which was a good choice. I'm also a small eater, so they had a "mini meal" that was plenty for me. The sandwich was delicious and the service was great. Anytime we pass through Blythe we will stop here for certain. Other patrons here were also traveling and they shared the same sentiment that the food was so good they were also making Rebel BBQ their destination when in Blythe, CA. If you're passing through, make sure you stop here!
