This was my first time fishing. Went with some family. Was their first time too. The staff was friendly and kind. They clean your fish for you and put it on ice. We caught 5 fish easily which was a thrill for my child. Only suggestion would be to have someone available to help out first timers. We had no idea what we were doing. Other people who were near by were kind enough to help, but the staff made it clear they weren't coming down to help. Overall a great time!

Showing my granddaughter local sites this past week, just had to add horseback riding through the sand dunes and onto the beach! Gotta love experiencing the Mighty Pacific up close and personal ! Great guides and beautiful/handsome horses...many rescued, and now enjoying wonderful surroundings. A not to be missed experience!!

we took our young grandson cam to find his first trout...
It's not your typical trout pond but a real lake that creates a reasonable challenge for first time anglers...
He had a great time, landed two 12-inch trout and was a very happy young man...
It's a wonderful place to take a young child to experience the excitement of cathing their first fish...
Not real inexpensive but worth the cost to see that beautiful smile...
Cam was the fifth grandchild we've taken to hageman and it's always been good...

Bunch of people were leaving as we arrived (around noon) maybe because there's no shade? Their benches and chair are very old.. Like breaking down old. They have all the equipment, bait. You pay for what you catch and you can't release what you caught already. They use a length system for pricing. We caught fish right away and unfortunately that didn't let us fish any longer since we didn't want to pay for more fish. I think we got scared after the second catch which was 16-17 inches. Would be nice if they sold charcoal since they have bbq grills there. They also gut the fish for you. In the end, we had two trouts with a full container of worms.

Took the family on a camping trip to bodega dunes for a quick two night summer trip! I found this place and it's great! Dustin the guy working was really nice and helpful! Told us the best location to fish. He even took a family picture with our catch! This is the perfect place to take your kids. We had 6 small children and they all easily caught fish. We will definitely be visiting again.

My family and I visited this Sheep ranch / Trout farm on 10/14/13. We were met by Larry, a very laid back, extreamly pleasant gentleman who hooked us up with poles and some power bait and sent us on our way down to the pond. After about 20 minutes of getting the poles in the water and no bites, Larry joined us down on the dock and announced, "We're having a fishing derby, boys against girls....". He fired up the "bait machine", some kind of food pellet spewing contraption, and boy did the fish get active. In the end all the kids (and adults) caught fish and we took home seven beautiful Rainbows, the largest 15 inches. For a small fee Larry gutted and cleaned our catch and we left having had a very memorable experience. If your in the Bodega Bay area and looking for a fun family activity, whether your an experienced angler or not, go to Hagemann Ranch and you will have a nice time. While we didn't use them, we noticed picnic tables and bbque's arond the ponds and property which I assume can be used by visitors. I also saw a sign offering hay rides.

I have been bring the kids here for years. This is a great place to bring a picnic lunch and spend the day catching fish. You will make life time memories. Just don't forget the camera.

The Hagemann Ranch Trout Farm is very family friendly and provides everything one needs to start fishing. They have the poles, bait, and treats to make the stay worth the 2-4 hours one may wish to stay. They have staff to clean and ice down your fish upon completion of your adventure. We took our two grandchildren for the second time and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Our granddaughter caught an 18" trout and received a 'high five' from another fisherman nearby. Pretty exciting. They opened for the season on the day in April that we arrived. We highly recommend it as a top attraction in this area of California.
